xXDeathMaliCeXx 10-22-2013 09:49 AM

Well if I can get my old civic sold this week then I know what I'm buying

abutterman 10-22-2013 10:25 AM

STI is better and Cheaper to Maintain. I already have an S55 as a DD and don't want another German car in my garage
and I can always use my dads M6...so no m3 anymore the new 2014 STI will be dope

Doesn't surprise me. I hope you get $4000 for it. I am also considering swapping cars at this point to go back to an M3. By the way your ECU dongle is only for your car and can't be sold with the kit, just the cable. The new owner will need to purcahse a new EcuTek license.

vgi 10-22-2013 12:16 PM

amazing how many guys who FIed their cars shortly start parting out and selling (or just sell still FIed). ftw is going on, is this one of the 'never good enough' cars?

The dongle can be transferred but you will need to Purchase a new license

Most would consider the BRZ a "downgrade" for me when looking at my last 4 cars. I wouldn't say shortly after as I have had my car turbo for about 8 months now, and I have had tons of miles of enjoyment. It really is a ready for the next thing for me.

The license comes with a free dongle, haha. I guess they could use the same dongle and apply a new license though.

Would you be willing to sell the AEM wideband and map sensor separately??

jamesm 10-22-2013 07:09 PM

I would wait for the new sti to come out. A 2014 will be 'obsolete' in a matter of months.

PS btw, don't you have stage 1 kit (GT2871R) rather than a base (t3/t4 turbos)?

Take it from a current 2012 STI owner, don't bother buying the 2014. If you are looking for an STI, wait for the 2015. The newer series motors from Subaru (FA/FB) trump the EJ series motors in every way (efficiency and power). Im actually looking to possibly get rid of my STI for a BRZ. Just saying.....

You've probably got your mind made, but I wouldn't go back to an STI from a BRZ. The power is nice, but the disconnection from the road is disconcerting. I found that I couldn't live with it because it was less predictable in corners compared to my previous cars.

However, I'm not saying that BRZ is the cats meow... I'll admit that I do miss my Cayman S (well, both of them).

Also, changing cars is where much of the fun is... if you can afford it.

Can't go wrong with an M... I had an E46 M3 that I absolutely loved. I may buy one again if the M4 is as light as they say it will be.
