Every new group buy that comes along I want to participate in. I so want to buy these raceng stiffeners in red that just came up on the group buy tonight. It's like some kind of compulsion I'm an addict! It started with one little LED. Said to myself it's just a little light bulb what can it hurt go ahead, i can handle it, buy it. Then I went to a car meet other guys were there, said look at my forced air intake, or you should try dipping your rims. Before I know it I'm up at 3am searching the group by list for deals. And arguing through PMs over which powder coat I want on my shift knob. I'm buying OEM armrests, shelling out big cash four Toms taillights. Drooling over short shift Systems and stiffening rods. Wrestling with myself over which cat back I want and which Gibson guitar I should pawn to get it. I need an intervention!

simple, go autox/track your car and you'll forget all about exterior mods!

toms tail and catback(exhaust tips) makes the rear end look a lot better

This, although I still bought and installed a black driveways diffusor and apr front splitter.

how do you like the driveway diffuser? Im contemplating on ordering it right now... lol

No way. If I'm going to ruin my life by dumping an irrational amount of money into my car so it can depreciate all to hell, then you're going down with me.

I know dat feel. What i did is add up all the parts im gonna need for FI. Everytime i want something i just look at it and tell myself if i get it thats XXX $ further away im gonna be.

If that doesnt work look at some build threads or shop cars. Thousands in parts, stocknor near stock power.

If all you care about is a nice looking ride and not power then i dont know how to help you :(

I'm sure the street version will be legit, but I look at it this way. My car deserves the best. So full GT top end everything. I'm in favor of bold and functional.

The key here is "exterior mods". All this will do is redirect your modding addiction to performance mods. Your wallet can't tell the difference. I'm afraid the disease is chronic. The only known cure is the sell the 86 and buy a Buick.:)

Yeah, the only exterior mods that matter after you track your car are zip ties.

OK, DIF, I'm here to help you out.

The next time you get the urge to mod your machine ..... just ask your SO what she thinks. If you can't convince her that the mod is worth while ...... just say NO to it!

I'm in the same boat, yeah I don't think I'm gonna mod the frs for a few years.

8 months of ownership later I'm 20k into mods

Yeah well.... she left. I Guess I could not convince her I was worthwhile. She said She'd been married twice before and they were both train wrecks, and that she would never get married again. I asked her to marry me anyway.

She was gone faster than an FRS goes into a drift. Six months later she married a guy named "Steeeve".

Let me tell you how I have stopped myself from buying mods like crazy...

I went to AutoX, participated in C Stock class, and lost to a stock RX8 on sticky tires. Then I went back and lost again. Then I started reading the rules and realized I can't do many mods in my class, and if I were to do all the mods I wanted, I would be moved to STX, which is an insane money pit where, IMO, the cost is not worth it. So I decided to spend money only in tires and gas, and make myself a better driver.

I'll beat that RX8. And it won't be my wallet I'll be thanking, it'll be myself.
