Well that was easy...
 

So I took the car in for its first service, asked them to disable DRL's and they did.

Really was anticipating push back or the claim they didn't know how to, couldn't, etc.

Guess it never hurts to just ask.

or leave the bulb in the socket and leave it unplugged from the back?

That was really nice of them. I heard the bulbs burn out fast and you just don't want to drive around with one on at all times.

Do you mean the DRL's on the GT86 headlights?

I had that done when I picked the car up. They didn't hassle me at all. I'm glad you had no problems either OP!

And - In my opinion only motorcycles should run headlights during the day.

As far as the safety thing is concerned, I'm not interested in that debate but you all carry on! =)

IMO, I like the amber drl with blackout headlight. I even think about getting the multicolor one. Looks great.

This is my reason for wanting to turn them off. Stealth.

For starters I have the LED Strips in my car, secondly they surve no purpose other than to look terrible :thumbup:

All DRL's do is help stupid American drivers think that they have their lights on, specifically when it is raining when in fact those are the only lights on... They fail to notice that their tail lights are NOT on thus making the road a little unsafer for other drivers (Include AUTO headlights here too). Another example of how lazy our drivers are which comes second after using indicators/blinkers.

Headlights should come on if the wipers are on... THIS would be a useful way to try and help visibility instead of DRLs.

Cause of their ugly fart stained yellow look. Doesn't match the sleek lines and look of a hi-tech modern sports car.
I turned mine off via techstream, only to turn them back on. This car needs help in being visible to others who are too busy on the phone sitting up high in their SUVs. Like the look of LEDs better... But don't want t lose my high beams..

I put LED DRL's in mine and they look great. Still no high beams though but I really don't need them as 6000k HID's are already powerful.

Best method I have seen so far. Still get to keep the high beams too.

A lot of people have problem detecting motion and these people oddly enough...do drive. DRL's help them decipher if a car is parked or moving. Odd enough.

There are many other reasons why DRL's are helpful. While they may look "bad" per say, they help people make better judgement.
