A little teaser of something I've been working on.

This is my first attempt. It came out ok but the bottom part will not fit around the plastic ring that holds it in place. I need to remake it and this time with a bigger diameter at the bottom.

The original material is flexible and easier to fit than the Alcantara.

In Kazakhstan we say, a man who doesn't sew is like a man without a dead horse.

Wow! Very Impressive! It looks really soft

Zoti 10-14-2013 02:46 PM

It is softer than the original. My plan is to make another one today that will actually fit.

Second try. Took me about an hour to complete.

So....how much for a set shipped out to California?

Zoti 10-16-2013 08:46 AM

As complemented as I am. I will not be selling any. They require hand fitting and getting them right is not that easy. The hand brake boot requires gluing and fitting it is not easy.

It looks great!! I would want to do something like that but unfortunately I have my cell phone holder stuck near the radio screen and that comes in handy. But what happened to the stitching on the dashboard? It seems not as well done as your other ones. The lines aren't as great or is it the angle of the pictures?

Zoti 10-21-2013 03:10 AM

I decided to go with stitching between the two pieces I stead of the stitching around the pads like JDM do. I did the JDM style first but when I glued it on the pad it was very hard to align.

So I removed everything and did it this way. I think the picture I took make them look weird as I used the flash. I'll try again tomorrow.

So what's next?

Steering wheel cover? Driving Gloves? Mirror Dice? Headrest covers? Seat covers? Where does it stop?! :bonk:

But seriously, it all looks sweet. I love the dashboard.:respekt:

I am going to finish with the two silver trim pieces on the sides of the auto climate control. Maybe make a couple of knee pads but not sure.

Looks good! I might have to eventually do that to mine so it'll match my Audi. I did the same thing but with crappy suede from Jo-Ann Fabrics. That's a pretty good price on the Alcantara. Thanks for the link!

DoomsdayJesus 10-23-2013 01:49 PM

JPM coachworks does some really nice work covering almost everything in the BRZ with leather or Alcantara.
