I was able to change my pre-order.
Hey guys,
I just wanted to say I was able to change my pre-order (March 6th is when I pre-ordered). I am second in line at a dealership in northeast Ohio. I originally ordered the premium WR-Blue BRZ. Once pricing came out I decided 2k extra for limited was def worth it. I called in today and was able to change my order to limited because Subaru hasn't built the vehicle yet. There were no pre-orders placed after mine so only two pre-orders have been made at that dealership. I'm not sure if this allowed my order to be altered without me losing my place. I just wanted to share this with some of the members and see if anyone else has tried to change their order once pricing was released. |
Unfortunately I wasn't able to do the same, but there are 10 people lined up at my dealership and I was first in line.
If I changed my order to a premium I would have gone to the back of the line. |

The dealer made it clear that they would still expect to see the vehicle around late May/early June even though my order was changed.

We need more definitive information on expected arrival date. Hopefully by the end of this month. |

I don't think that is accurate. I spoke with them just after the allotment notices went out and I was told they were getting 2 cars for the May-Nov time period. I was first in line there originally, but when I found out that VIP wouldn't be accepted I cancelled my order and got my deposit back. I wound up at Brunswick (#1 in line again) where they promised me VIP pricing regardless of what Subaru did.. so I got invoice after-all. |
VIP is UNDER invoice. Getting the car at invoice is nothing special beyond some negotiation.

If you think getting invoice on the BRZ is nothing special, then I encourage you to go for it. As far as I know, I'm one of just 4 people who've been fortunate enough to do so. |

1. They get a list of 25 specific vehicles without the order in which they'll arrive. Then I know which cars are in the allocation that match my preferences, but I don't know when exactly those few cars will arrive. So I wait some more to hear when one is actually on its way to the dealership, and then I can decide whether I want to take it. 2. They get a list of 25 specific vehicles with the order of arrival. So they know that their first monthly batch will contain these three cars, then the second month another three, etc. I'd then be able to choose which car I want based on color and when it arrives, and the only thing left uncertain would be exactly when it arrives during the month. I honestly don't know which of these is closest to correct, and Patrick Subaru doesn't seem to know either. #2 makes more sense to me, but that may be why it's wrong. All they'll say for sure is that they'll get their annual allocation details later this week. |

Cool, thanks for the information. All I know through Cityside is that my order is made and that I'll get the car at some point, hopefully they'll share what they learn their detailed allocation. |
