FRS front bumper garnish, interest?

Im looking for this type of lip to get for my car, but the only one I have seen is on ebay and its pretty pricey for what it is. I emailed Mark at Stillen asking if something affordable could be made similar to the JDM front bumper garnish, and he said its possible if there is enough interest. Would anyone be interested in this type of garnish?

i will 100% buy one

JDM - $300/ way too much

Plasti-Dip - easy, affordable, very easy to mess up

Vinyl Wrap - easy, affordable, hard to find retailers and to cut exactly

Zen86 10-07-2013 02:51 PM

I'm down to buy as well. Just not for $300

I really think the most I would pay for something like that is like $50. I would like one, but I have no idea why they would be expensive. I couldn't believe how much that garnish was when I first saw it on eBay.

Yeah, seeing your pics was the reason i want this!

dnieves 10-08-2013 09:13 PM

For what it is, $300 is a lot of money to spend on something that's purely for looks (and some protection).

Glad to see there is some interest here. What material is going to be most desirable for everyone? Urethane, Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber? Keep the interest up. The more interest the more likely we are going to be able to move forward with something like this. Thanks!

Edit: Are these bumps on the garnish important to anyone?

i would go with something that would be the most durable or more like rock resistant?

Team STILLEN 10-11-2013 02:48 PM

That would be Urethane :)

Thats the reason i want this too haha. All my chips are along this center lip.

yuroldhat 10-11-2013 04:00 PM

I'd be totally down for this.

SuperGTS 10-11-2013 04:42 PM

I would definitely buy one. Hope it's under $300 though :P I would go with Urethane or Fiber Glass... Carbon Fiber is kinda too much for the car unless you were a trackie...

tunami 10-11-2013 04:53 PM

The thing I like about this too is that it can be removed fairly easy, its just 3M tape I believe. I would prefer not to drill for this.

Team STILLEN 10-11-2013 07:56 PM

Something like this would definitely use 3m tape. Keep the input and interest coming guys :)

AintTrying2Race 10-12-2013 03:50 AM

if you'll be able to add a bottom lip kit with this garnish it would be great too.

Ndgreely 10-13-2013 09:19 PM

l8apexr 10-13-2013 09:35 PM

something glossy would be better whatever the material.
this isn't a spoiler so its best it matches the glossy paint .
also, make other colors to compliment the dark colored cars. somewhat useless to use a black one on a dark blu car.. make them several colors or patterns to compliment . do it.

TexMex 10-24-2013 04:18 AM

super interested

AintTrying2Race 10-24-2013 11:00 AM

Is this in production already? Who's trying to make these besides the one that's already out by TRD that cost an arm and a leg!

We are looking into making a front bumper garnish for the FR-S. I will keep everyone posted if we decide to produce it.

I think if you make it durable and affordable, you will have A LOT of sales.

Not really unless there is an actual use for bumps, i'd prefer it to be flat.

ApolloSki 10-28-2013 03:10 PM

Flat, affordable, and glossy.

OICU812 10-28-2013 03:11 PM

Interested as well, material in poly be best for durability. Bumps no matter as others have said flat likely look better to. Color or shade a selection of either matte black that is paintable if user should choose to, or gloss black would be cool.

tunami 10-28-2013 03:23 PM

Bumps are not needed. Keep it simple

Zen86 10-28-2013 03:42 PM

As others have stated: no bumps is preferred and gloss black

alexand3r 10-28-2013 04:05 PM

Another vote for no bumps and glossy.

husker741 10-28-2013 04:26 PM

One more for no bumps and glossy black.

Team STILLEN 10-28-2013 06:03 PM

Great feedback guys! Keep it coming! I am working hard to get this into production.

pheoxs 10-28-2013 06:11 PM

Curious why everyone doesn't just wrap that piece with black vinyl for a fraction of the cost?

Whats the other benefits?

Not everyone knows exactly how to get vinyl to fit perfectly. If they can fit this to the bumper, without having to use heat to keep it on, and make it durable against rock chips, it'll be much better than vinyl.

I have some chips and small lip damage that this will cover perfectly, haha. Alot cheaper than getting it fixed and repainting. It looks great on white cars as well.

TexMex 10-30-2013 01:13 AM

+1 Interested!
