AspenItIs 10-31-2013 04:45 PM

Any first time Trackers going to register to this event? I've never tracked/auto-x'd before and I'm tempted to register for the Track event but don't want to be in over my head!

I'm considering it, I've never done anything like that before either and don't want to make a fool of myself :confused0068:

UltraMarine86 10-31-2013 04:54 PM

Sargy 10-31-2013 05:28 PM

Exactly. Why is there nothing like this on the east coast?

glorydays 11-02-2013 01:03 AM

cold/shitty weather.

MINOCIN 11-02-2013 06:54 PM

Sounds like fun. I had a good time at 86Fest II last August, but was pretty disappointed with the auto-x they were running. Primarily because it was so short. Average times for it were in the low to mid 20s for most drivers. Anyone have any idea if the 86 nation auto-x should be more substantial?

Normally I prefer full track days over an auto-x, but I just don't feel like doing the ROVAL right now in my FRS. So I'm hoping 86 Nation can provide a fun auto-x that will last at least 60 or so seconds. Plus, running the auto-x over the time-attack will allow me to check out the vendors :D

Tsinoy 11-03-2013 05:32 PM

Can i go even if i don't have a brz or frs?

Yes, that is one of the many great things about living in Ny. Shitty weather for several months out of the year along with some crazy little fuk telling people what size soda they should drink and that 20 10 round magazines are cool but 4 30 round magazines is just crazy talk. These are similar reasons why I left Massachusetts, way to much of a nanny state for my tastes.

Back on topic. There are tracks and huge places for events in Georgia, Florida, etc. If not the east coast what about the midwest? Missouri, Kansas, Texas? Personally Id drive to Texas in Jan or Feb to escape the brutal cold 40/50's of Nc winters.

ichitaka05 11-07-2013 12:34 PM

Sorry, I got busy w work project, I was lacking here BUT I do check here! lol

86 Dynamic Driving Academy, Stage 4: AUTOCROSS SCHOOL will be held in conjunction with "86 Nation" Event on November 23rd, at Auto Club California Speedway at 9300 Cherry Blvd, Fontana, CA. This will be a first com-first served spots for 25 entries at $70+ $15 gate fee. It is reserved for AE86 drivers, and Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ drivers, and is for novice, and intermediate drivers. For advanced drivers, there is a normal autocross session operating at the same time, with difference sessions.

You can pre-register online for autocross at www.86nation.net/autox OR check in on the day of the event early in the morning by 8am.

Registration
AutoX online Registration cost is $70 and closes on Friday the 22nd @ 9pm. You will need to pay the $15 gate fee to enter FT-86 Nation so please have cash available for the gate fee. Or find the AutoX registration @ the FT-86Nation info booth to register the day of the event. Space is limited and you should register online to guarantee yourself a spot. If you registered online use your ticket showing you paid to enter or bring cash. You'll also need a valid driver’s license. Numbers will be assigned upon arrival. Cars may be required to install a windshield vinyl from one or more of our sponsors.

No Work Assignments!
Unlike most Autocross formats, we'll have staff so you don't have to work when you're not running. This way you can enjoy the event! If you do feel like working in exchange for a free AutoX entry, please let us know as we could use one or two more staffers.

Preparing Your Car / Tech Inspection
Remove all loose articles from the interior of your car! At the “tech” area, you will be asked to open the hood, trunk, and interior of your car for the Tech official’s inspection. They are here to make sure that all cars competing are safe. They will inspect your tires for adequate inflation pressure and tread depth, your wheel bearings for wear, check that your battery is secure, throttle return springs for return, etc. If the tech officials are satisfied with the safety of your car, your time card will be initialed. Helmets are required and limited loaners will be available (snell 95 and up).

So far away...not enough time off :(

MINOCIN 11-16-2013 07:04 PM

I just finished signing up for the auto-x event. My FRS is stock with no go-fast parts, but I hope to be changing that soon. I look forward to checking out all the vendors and seeing all the different FRS/BRZs at the show. Weather forecast says it going to be a cool sunny day :)

How come when you go to the website, click on register, and then click on attendees, there's very few for each category (track, autox, and show)?

IDK... but I know for the fact there will be over 30 FRS/BRZ attending autox & 86DDA and that list is going higher and higher (don't believe me, check 86DDA group in FB), also good amount (forgot exact number) of cars doing Redline Time Attack.

Most of all, there gonna be good amount of vendors there and see all the cool parts for this car! Some of them are all new from SEMA, it's worth going to check it out in person! :party0030::party0030:
