Drive Away Date
What are the current predictions for first drive away date for both 86 and BRZ?
|
1 OCT would be my prediction. For some reason we are always late to the party.
|
Approx 10wks. 18th June
|
not sure about everywhere else, but for Sydney, I've heard around late July early August,if you have done the paper work in June.:iono:
|
Given we are look mid-late June for the release date, I'd say first deliveries somewhere around August? July maybe?
|
The dealer i spoke to says it will be on average 10-12 weeks, which is pretty normal delivery time for most cars.
|
btw on the launch date, local T dealer said they would have one in the showroom on the 28th of May for looking at but not to drive...
He also said all the specs were on the T website though which is wrong so who knows... |
i was told the dealers are getting demos in May (April production) with cars coming in June for sale (May production). but i think the amount of cars available initially will be low.
|
Thanks for the all the feedback. My Toyota dealer has provided none. My Subaru dealer has speculated Aug/Sep.
And thanks for the test drive date predictions. That's a critical date I was kicking myself for not asking about initially, too. |
The dealer I spoke to said mid may for the initial delivery. They have sold thir demonstrator already haha
|
Haha my dealer has probably sold their demo as well.

And to be honest i dont see Toyota selling their quoter either. Perhaps ADVERTISING :eyebulge: will help. |
Seems the only constant is everyone being told something different. If I average out the current speculation I see something like the following emerging:
Test drive expectation: Toyota in May/June; Subaru in June/July Earliest drive away expectation (for pre-orders): Toyota in June/July; Subaru in Aug/Sep. I hope Subaru and Toyota release at similar times to allow those of us who want to walk away with one asap to test drive both and select the spec that suits. And if it (disappointingly) turns out that Subaru release later than Toyota, it suggests they are extremely confident that demand will massively outstrip supply. |

Well, it's a good thing this thread is only about earliest test drives and drive away dates, then, isn't it. ;)
|
Will there be a Toyota launch?
|
My Subaru insider told me that if they dont have your colour/spec, you could be looking at VWGTI-esque waiting times :S
|
Just placed my deposit of a grey 86 :)
should be delivered end June/July. |
G'day guys, i was having a chat to the boss today about the same thing and at this stage the general consensus is that the pricing will be released around the 20th of June, 2012 with pre-order 86 deliveries taking place end of June through July.

Did he specify which state or city or is he jumping from state to state? |
I wonder what happened to the '8th of June' release date then? can they release the car then wait 2 weeks to release the price? <- has no idea how this works so serious question.

No worries :) Quick update guys, i just took another deposit for a pre-order this arvo so we only have 2 left of our 4 first batch cars available so if you want to be one of the first owners contact me at: andrew.smith@peterwarren.com.au or on either 02 9828 8948 or 0406 237 776.
At this stage those who are in our first allotment (we anticipate) will be receiving their cars towards the end of June/early July. As for those elusive demo cars...hmmm....We reckon there might be a couple floating around towards the end of May, however, from what i have seen of the official documentation they are considering end of May to release demo's to the dealers. Now whether that means only dealers will be permitted to test the cars as part of the official dealer launch or whether we will be able to offer drives to clients has not been determined as yet that i know of. The majority of information flying around at the moment is all pure speculation because Toyota Australia have not released anything in writing confirming their plans. There is an internal dealer document doing the rounds on the web as the "official release" but even all the details in that document have not been confirmed 100% as anyone who has actually seen that document which was printed in February, 2012 would know that it is stated more than once on it that not all of the information has been finalized - hence the reason it was not published on the Toyota Australia website. I know it's a pain waiting for definite answers, believe me i know - you guys are seeing how popular the car is on these forums - try it when you're getting 50+ calls a day plus people walking in off the street for a look and having nothing concrete to tell anyone - it's very frustrating indeed. |

What spec and colour did you get again? Did he give you anything so you can track it!? |
Quote:
spec is "high" and colour is satin pearl white nothing to track. i don't care at this stage, i just want to know the damn price and spec. that's more important becos it means yes/no car. i know i won't get their first batch of cars becos they didn't order a white one in their inital batch. they had blue and orange. |
