out with the old... in with the new!

Long story short, before I bought my FR-S in a snap decision, I had an 05 Mazda3 HB that suddenly needed it's fifth motor, and an 88 Supra N/A -> Turbo project that I just could not find the time to finish... even after 7 years. Also, check my user title

Sold MZ3 in a few days... and today, after 2 months, sold my Supra (with $20,000 in reciepts parts and machine work) for.... cheap.

Just wanted to start fresh... The FR-S has made me forget about all the gloom.

Last night: cleaned around car and filled tires with air to prepare for tow.

Last picture of my built money pit, i mean, motor. good for 400rwhp and 400+ ft-lb by 1,800rpm as you see it. Mmmmmm... torque!

Bye bye. Felt emotionless, to be honest. I feel very mature...
... HOLD ME I WANNA CRY!

While I watched the Supra ride off into the sunset... this sinister machine got a bit too comfortable as it managed to find a way inside... Yes, very peculiar indeed.

Anyway, I could have posted a "SIYANORA" on the SupraForums. But you know what... why hang in the past?

This is my community now :respekt: and I'm glad to be a part of it.

So, what are you going to do with all your spare time .... ??

I suggest you NOT do (or DON'T) let others do ..... to your FR-S, what was done (or not done) to the first four engines in you Mazda 3 ...... http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...ages/crazy.gif

You know, you have to put oil in them, right?

Crazy, I just sold my 89 1JZ (~400hp)Supra build that I owned for about a decade too.

It was a sad day but MAN, the FR-S is just so much fun it makes up for it.

also congrats!

1st motor, original, 80,000 miles - Went to change oil... there was no oil :X . Motor developed rod knock upon my finding.

2nd motor, brand new, rebuilt, $2,700.00 (w. 3-year/100k mile warranty, Thank GOD!) - After 500 miles, valve retainer failed in cylinder 4 = catastrophe.

3rd motor, brand new, rebuilt, warranteed - After 12,000 miles, developed Rod Knock, 2 bearings bad.

4th motor, brand new, rebuilt, warranteed - After 13,000 miles, another damn rod knock.

All in all, was entirely the machine shop/rebuilder's fault.

Enough was enough! First motor was probably my fault as I never consistently checked oil levels.. but I just couldn't deal with problems anymore! Especially because the car was automatic and no fun.

And thank you all for the warm welcome, although I've been here 2 months :P

Just now it's all official and stress free

Ah, One of my favorite sounding engines.... Up there with the RB's!

It's funny, I bought my Supra when I was 16 and raved about the 200HP from 3 litres.

Now, I'm 26, have 200HP from 2.0 litres... and I tell people it's not alot :p.

Exactly they same here! bought it at 17, thought 200 hp was plenty. That being said, the more I drive the FR-S, the happier I am with the output. Really, for around town 200 hp is plenty.

But yeah the sound that 1JZ made was unreal.

Damn your frs looks a bit intimidating just sitting in the garage like that. Like "get away from me or else ill eat you".

Good luck with your work cant wait to see the outcome of it.

You're thinking about the RX8. They made a back seat specifically to carry extra oil.

@hamzam I too know he pain of adding up receipts and selling for much less. But a good drive in the new car is perfect therapy. Simple turnkey fun. No drama. The good life!
