1/4 mile times
I know there's been a few threads like this pop up, with a lot of good information for N/A but I haven't seen much F/I specific 1/4 mile times. I've seen a few turbo kits in the 11-12's but haven't seen much superchargers (I know charged86 got ~13.1 last I heard?).
I think it would be good to have some 1/4 mile times in a specific thread. And no "that's not what these cars were made for" crap this is just a way to guage the performance of these cars (in a straight line) in an easy way. So if anybody has been to the strip, please post any relevant mods and whp with a time/slip. I'm also curious how to more improve the times of these cars as they do seem a little slow at the strip from what I've seen. Seems like a lot of it is due to traction - what can we do to help that outside tires & suspension and is that enough? |
Subscribed. I've been wondering what a mild build from Avo or Vortech runs in the 1/4.

Theres a handfull of these cars that are trapping high 120's which is a very respectable time. But their ET's have been not quite on par with the MPH they are running. Im waiting for someone to a proper suspension setup on this car and some big n littles. If it were me i'd run an adpater and put on some weld rt-s' with a 26x8 slick out back.

I'm not very good but I did 13.7 with 57trim fa20club with GeForce rivals 245-40-17 all around

I ran a 13.9@ 108 last night on 225s. Really need to get the secret on getting out the hole. Seems like when I take off I spin then plant. But Im only pushing about 265 hp right now, still logging. Any tips on getting out the hole? Ill probably get much better once I have launch control back on my map.
|
265whp? Nice times over stock regardless. Traction seems to be a pretty big issue.

Do you have LC? That was the trick for me, I went from high 13s to 13.0 in 2 passes just getting the traction in check. Pretty easy to do with ecutek and LC, I built a custom map to help with traction in the lower gears while on the oem tires. Went from cutting a 2.3-4 to a 1.9 on the OEM tires. |

The secret to get out of the hole, practice, practice, practice. However I'm sure these cars are not very easy to launch boosted.

Did u just dump the clutch or ride it out?

Bump for more data!

Try riding it out or preloading on the ebrake.

Well went back out Sunday ran about 25 psi in the tires. Ambient temp was down about 20 degrees. My third gear was amazing that night. I slipped the clutch most then night instead of dumping and it helped a lot. Dropped my time to 13.6. Also we were running on a pro tree and my reaction go better. Still not amazing by any means

My best run.

When I tried to get it tuned the injector load was at max capacity and wasnt able to push a lot of boost. Fixed the issue and turned up the boost and haven't had a chance to get it tuned. hopefully soon. |

Et's are pretty weak here but everybody's got good overall trap speeds.

ET's overall car setup/driver. Trap is just HP to weight. So i wouldn't say it was really either an insult or complement.

I think folks just need more seat time for better ET's. Overall, not too shabby for the 2 years that this car has been on the market! It's depressing to know that I can already hit 12's with my basically stock gen3 mr2 with the boost turned up; whereas the FRS will need EVERYTHING just to get into the 12's  |
A 3sgte at 17psi with water meth is hardly stock friend. Your comparing apples and oranges, factory boosted to an n/a car of course the boosted car will be made to go faster for less.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I was hoping to see more 12 sec passes with the amount of money people are dumping into their boosted setups. Running 13's is kind of disappointing and is basically as fast as my mr2 running on stock boost! I was hoping to see better... In time, I hope for more progression. 13's are weak considering all turbo'd up and everything. |
