That LF-A is naaaaaasty. If they charged $375,000 for that car, I could justify the cost!
86's ain't bad, either ;) |
Hell yeah, I love it all.
|
The new livery is fantastic!
I absolutely love that Gazoo is taking these girls to 24 Hours. |
Very nice. I actually prefer the looks of the FR-S more than the LFA. I love small cars.
|
This will be a good test to the new platform. Can't wait to watch!
|
SWEET! :party0030:
From this angle, these look like a set of RC cars! :D http://jonsibal.com/2012/GazooRr_1.jpg |
I really don't like the color scheme they chose for the car. It hides the lines of the body of the 86.

I wonder what engine they will use. They obviously can't use the stock NA FA20... It would be rediculously slow.

Oh, I didn't know they had a 2 liter NA class. I thought it was more like Le Mans series rules with a general GT class.
|
How come they're using Scions/????
And where are the HID's...... |

HID's usually aren't used in race cars because they buy the basic models to modify and also HID's are ever so slightly heavier... not to mention more expensive if they get damaged. There might even be a regulation against them... |

The 24hrs of Nburg isn't a marquee endurance race, there aren't many fast cars there. This is a similar class to the World Challenge (Acura Sports Car challenge). The rules are probably posted somewhere. Essentially, modified manifolds (typically), suspension, body panels, etc. Usually the stock engine/internals are the same. These cars get killed by the upper classes but they can actually keep similar speed in turns not under throttle.

Of course the goal of the 86s must be to "survive" and maybe to achieve a class victory. SP != Stock (SP stands for "Special") For example the Porsche 911 RSR is in the SP7 class. They have near Stock classes in the VLN & 24h Race, but they are called "V" - Classes. The 86 could compete in the V3 or SP3. If there is an additional "T" like in SP4T there you find the super- or turbocharged cars. More Information you can find here: http://adac.24h-rennen.de/Home.168.0.html?&L=1 |

For V - Classes it must fit into the rules. And last year it didn´t as it was not a real stock car. (You couldn´t buy one, so it is not stock in the reglement) |
hello,
in the next VLN race (in 2 days) 4 Gt86´s are participating. In class Sp3. sweet |
Someone let Giccin know there's a woman racing one of these. Something, something female empowerment...
|
This is awesome. Wish GT86 will beat those Hondas this year, I wish. :(
Shouldn't the spec of GT86s be revealed? |
I just realized where a certain part of the livery scheme came from...
