Photoshop Request.

We'll start with the tough one:

Could someone put a gloss on the flat bumper bar so it looks body-color?
http://mkimg.carview.co.jp/minkara/b...5950814/p1.jpg

For an easier challenge, make the flat black bar body color on a blue and white BRZ:

Thanks. :)

just86 04-06-2012 01:00 PM

nothing will hide that mouth guard man, only way is to remove it completely and adding a new grill

bFreed 04-06-2012 02:05 PM

Eh, just leave it alone.... Especially on the white.

Thanks. :) Care to try your hand at the White one?

I'm kicking around some ideas with the black one. A couple people on another forum wanted to see the end result, so I put up the blue and white as more examples.

sigh....ok for those thinking of color matching your BRZ mustache. Stop. It wont look good. There is a definitive contrast of the grill and the rest of the bumper having it grey/black. Because the grill is embossed, color matching would make it look awkward because of the indentation.

What you want to to is FILL IN the embossed sections and smoothen them out to make it seamless. Then you can color match so the colors flow across the entire frontal section.

This is what you want to do, trust me. Example.

Another nice chop! TBH I prefer this look to the current look...

Those are nice. Too bad it'd take more than a little bit of paint to do that.

:word: After seeing it the other way, I think I like it better the way it is. Maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me, but IMO, I say leave it.

Norcalmav23 04-06-2012 04:23 PM

I wasn't to happy about the "mustache" either... then I saw the BRZ in person, and honestly it is pretty sweet... it looks better in person than in pics.

Yes. +1
I was thinking solid body color panel like above would be it, but I'm with you, I really, really like the look of the car the way it stands now. Doesn't seem to have the same agressive quality, especially when you have seen it in person.

Would prefer this if we wanted to do some modification

I actually dig the OEM set-up. Go figure.

igorot 04-07-2012 11:57 PM

the oem isnt bad at all. pictures with certain angles make it look terrible. but once people see it in person, im sure they wont mind as much

Why in the hell didn't Subaru do this? Your chop looks INFINITELY better than the OEM fascia and I don't see how it (Wings') would have been difficult to manufacture. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other Subarus with a "mustache." I'm not being very eloquent, (I blame the beer,) but, Wings, your rendering is exactly how the BRZ should have been executed - it's perfect as an OEM piece.

Granted, it does look better in person, but I feel someone would have asked "why?" during the design phase. :mad0260:

86'd 04-08-2012 05:22 AM

I don't like the chop. I mean it's a really good effort, but the BRZ's front end is growing on me.

And on the white it doesn't look too bad. Plus a front plate is going to be covering most of it anyway.

Rampage 04-08-2012 07:53 AM

Ths photoshops that cover the bumper piece make the front of the car look too generic for my taste. Whether you like the black front bumper or not it does add character to the car. It doesn't look bad body colored. Removing it completely could be disasterous in a front end collision.

It's just a piece of plastic with no structural value, the actual bumper beam is behind it.

This might be the first time I actually used my front license plate.

MAD :respekt: for matching the color in the water reflection.

I thought of this looking at the chop & WingsOfWar Sig

I realize that. I was referring to the chop where the grill opening was completely open and the bumper appear to have been removed.

Yeah that's mine. The bumper defense beam can be behind the grill like on the FRS

Rampage 04-08-2012 07:20 PM

Ah, I see what you are saying but on the FRS the top of the bumper cover covers half of it and then the bottom part is either visible of cover by a simulated grill opening which is actually solid. It appeared on the chop that the crash bumber was gone completely. It is a great look it just would not quite look that clean in reality with the bumper intact.
