Khorne's - AUDM Red 86 GTS Sprintex
Hello All,
Thought i should make a journal now that my car is boosted. Recieved in Feb 2013, car was build Jan 2013. First mod was wheels and tyres, 5Axis S5:F Wheels 18x8 with Federal 595 SS 225/40/18. Second was gear knob from flossy with the 86 logo on it. Invidia N1 Catback. Next was Invidia Mid pipe and motiv overpipe and a Seibon VS style carbon hood. Yesterday i picked the car up from getting a Sprintex intercooled supercharger on the car, no headers or intake yet. Tuned to run on 98RON/93AKI it's putting down 230whp and 184ftlb :party0030:. Planned: Headers CAI Oil Cooler (will be on next week) E85 Tune http://i.imgur.com/gmun7Pv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/311dSV5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4c0wNJ2.jpg |

Ordered a set of red crystal eye tail light. Been meaning to replace mine for a while due to the fogging/leaking problems.
http://i.imgur.com/EAPF28L.jpg Also buying a P3 cars vent of a good mate @stevo_12v to monitor my oil temps. http://i.imgur.com/ugXEp72.jpg |
Installed my P3cars vent gauge. Works awesomly good for keeping an eye on temps now im FI.
Also picked up a Mocal oil cooler kit which will be installed soonish (as its almost summer here). And my Crystal eye lights were delayed so i should have them next Wednesday. Crappy pic but the gauge in action, fits in nicely with the oem cluster. Install was very easy total about 30 mins, this was the first time i've takes any trim off a car. Picked up a 5 pack of various trim removal tools for $10 from Supercheap Auto as well. http://i.imgur.com/E9UGEDh.jpg |
how well does that p3 cars gauge work? I was thinking of getting one since I went the forced induction route

Niiiiice!! This is the sickest Mount Fuji Red GTS in Perth!! :P
Btw, thanks for the help on the P3vent install. I did 6.2sec for 0-100 last night ! :D |
Just a small update with some crappy pictures, been trying my hand at vinyl wrapping.
http://i.imgur.com/0xyrjLX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jc1V2o0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FFZ4K12.jpg Overall im pretty happy with it, a few mistakes on the gauge cluster surround but since it was a first try im pretty happy. $46AU for 2.3mx1.5m of vinyl in cherry red metallic, brand is Avery. Oil cooler should be on in a few weeks, and have a GT wing and some cannards on the way. |
So reading the first post i said my oil cooler was going to be on in a week at the end of September and it still isnt .
Held off to do it with a oil change, got it all ready and BAM found that Toyota had over torqued the factory drain bolt, almost rounded it off. Decided to get its 15,000Km service done and the plug removed at a shop. Had the OEM plug replaced with a Fumoto valved plug and its holding up fine and should make the next oil change a treat. While i did have the front off before we found the plug problem i removed the plastic grill to run open mouthed and spray painted the crash beam black. I picked up my new plates for the car as well. Oil cooler now 100% will be on the saturday after xmas come hell or high water. A week after will be my car's first trip to the track since the S/C went in and im really looking forward too it. :burnrubber: Pic1 - Front off http://i.imgur.com/thfPLau.jpg Pic2 - Blacking it's teeth http://i.imgur.com/RCE9Ovx.jpg Pic3 - Fumoto valve http://i.imgur.com/vvVssDw.jpg Pic4 - Open mouthed http://i.imgur.com/LO1TROT.jpg Pic5 - New plates http://i.imgur.com/VOvrj8h.jpg |
It's about dayum time  Oil cooler is finally in the car.
Install time 3.5 hours, Only trouble was the clamping mechanism on the hoses wasn't normal. Other than that no cutting or modification of the body or panels required for install. Small leak on the left fitting on the oil cooler after tightening it is now down to a few drops after my shakedown tonight but still a small leak need another spanner to tighten more which ill have tomorrow. In action it is awesome, usual reported cruising oil temp was 94-98 degrees depending on ambient. Only tried in hot weather today and it was sitting on the thermostat at 83-85 degrees reported. Under heavy load the temp rises a bit but once backed off it shoots down. Track next weekend will report back. Overall a pretty clean install and freaking awesome results so far. http://i.imgur.com/DtUIQ2e.jpg http://i.imgur.com/M0JTckB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PzvzEwK.jpg Also went to a nearby dam for sunrise this morning before i installed the oil cooler for some photo ops. http://i.imgur.com/Xy4HqkB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/akFADhO.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cOeYZRq.jpg I ordered some MCA blue coilovers as well this week, along with some 17x9 Enkei RPF1's, time to get some low. |

Well, i have yet to have a good drive with it to make up my mind, just took it for a small test to make sure i wouldn't die haha.
http://i.imgur.com/hMvPPNN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/g3SH3j5.jpg |
After having a bit of a drive with the wheel i had to take the quick release out. Both it and the dish on the wheel combines led to the wheel being a bit too close to me while driving.
So wheel is not directly on the hub and feels wonderful to use, i have two options now. Get a wheel with less dish or source a smaller quick release hmmmmm. |
So i've decided to go for a smaller QR on the wheel.
Either way it feels wonderful to drive with. Also did some painting to my tyres for fun, ordered some rear LCA's as well. http://i.imgur.com/iBDr8MU.jpg |
Looks great. I was so close to buying an MX5 that had a similar wheel and tyre package.
|
So today marks 1 year with my 86.
A lot of money, time and love has gone into it hopefully year 2 will be just as fun. Cupcake just because http://i.imgur.com/hnWJOZh.jpg |
Been a little while since an update.
Put slotted and dimpled RDA doscs and redstuff pads on today (front only waiting for rears to arrive) http://i.imgur.com/RRFsXbm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/x3TXkNo.jpg Also put the OEM hood back on for winter for heat and to stop rain getting on the supercharger belt. http://i.imgur.com/3VAuSbk.jpg |
So after deciding i need more in the way of brakes i have purchased a AP Racing Sprint kit that should fulfill my track demon.
Picking up some 300V 0W20 tomorrow and the PCV Radium catch can should be arriving any day. I should really scrub the faded bridgestone off my wheels. |
