Transfering an unused Visconti tune to a new owner?

I've searched, but haven't found a solid answer... will @Visconti transfer an unused tune to a new person and give the new owner updates in the future?

I found an unused cable/license/tune but don't want to buy it if I have to re buy the tune.

Anyone know for sure?

Only he can answer that question as it is completely his discretion to do it.

Need to also check with ECUtek to make sure the license was never transferred to the other cars ECU. If it was connected only once, the license is transferred then and there.

Pure comedy

you should transfer it...into your local recycling bin.

Has Visconti gone totally MIA from here? I PM'd Rich about it and tagged John here.

I have no concerns about the license, the seller already offered up flashing it to my car before taking money to prove that everything was unused.

Your best bet would be to have the owner of the tune/license submit a ticket through Visconti's support ticket system.

Just a question on the side, not to thread jack, but if I have an ECUtek cable and license that has never been used, can that be resold? I received a cable and license as a gift, and might not be going that route after all. I never purchased a tune, nor has the ECUtek box been opened.

The box has never been opened....I think youll be okay to sell it.

As long as the license has never been applied to an ECU, you can totally sell it.

FRSRAVEN 09-20-2013 06:09 PM

10-4, thank for the fast replies!

They havent logged in in about a week or more.

Rev up those tags.

Licence and cable are fine as long as they havent been used on another car.
Tune and support is entirley up to Visconti. However i would say steer clear. Get your car tuned on a dyno, it's worth it.

At this point--who would want the liability?...

Liability of what?? Are you referring to the issue with the flex fuel kits and fires? That has exactly nothing to do with a flash tune.

Yeah it seems people are getting the issues confused. There's no fire risk to the retune. Only complaints on that are regarding communication issues.

Sorry.

I just see 'Flash' & 'Visconti' in the same sentence and.....

You may not be able to transfer a license, but you too can prevent FR-S fires.

Honestly, we haven't heard 1 word from Visconti on the forums and I've heard lots of complaints about his customer service. I highly doubt something like this would work with Visconti but your free to ask him...

It might be easy to just send in a request for a reflash to Visconti through his "support" website he always mentions, but your guy would have to use all your login details for that to work. And its a little sketchy, but just saying that could be a possibility ;)

Gaiseric 09-22-2013 05:20 AM

You must really hate someone to want to give them your Visconti Tune lol.

killerkid08 09-23-2013 02:30 PM

As for tune transfers, it can't be done I believe, and most tuners won't just create a tune for you, their tunes are their lifeblood. $$$ make the world go round, and just because someone wants to give you their tune from their car, doesn't mean you can have it.

When i got my AVO kit, it came with a tune aswell, i couldn't load it, and no one(JV) would just create one for me in place of it without me handing over the $$$. After the dollars changed hands though, i was rolling. My 2 cents.

As for Visconti, dudes usually to busy to get tunes done on time. I don't think the forum is his top priority.

Now that's what I call commitment to a platform...

I happily bought my tune from FA20club and just received the kit yesterday. Tony is already working on my tune file.

Thoroughly impressed so far. Can't wait to fine tune!
