10-Series just sitting at Carson City Toyota Scion!
Heads up! I should have asked but unfortunately I did not... I am not totally positive if this 10-Series is claimed, but I just dropped off my FRS for an oil change and there is a 10-Series just hanging out in the Carson City, NV - Toyota Scion lot. Perhaps someone may want to give them a call and see if it is claimed or not. Good luck!

Theres 9 of them at one of my local dealers...
|
There's a 10-Series that is literally collecting dust in Stevens Point, WI.
Here: http://www.marktoyota.com/new/Scion/...f3cc23381f.htm Probably has to do with it being auto and having some accessories installed that drove the pure price up to nearly $32,000...and most people do not like the color. ;) |
What!! I assumed they were not the easiest to find since there is such a limited supply. That is surprising...

Good point. I like the color, but if you wanted to add a certain color wheel I think black would only look good. Not a whole lot of versatility or options for a nice contrast...
|
Color is why I didn't get series 10.

Agreed! I am very happy with my classy/sexy Ultramarine. Red is nice too indeed! However, I am indifferent on hot lava. I like hot lava and it does not look bad per se, but I feel like that color truly works on a corvette haha. Perhaps I am wrong.
|
There's one at my local dealer's lot. I don't particularly like the bland silver and the model out there was an automatic. It'll probably sit for a while... it's pretty marked up for an outgoing 2013 model, even if it is special.
|
We don't get the 10 series here in the United Arab Emirates, is it different to Argento?

Yeah its kind of a flat silver/blue combo (but more silver). As DMDominator pointed out, when you are in a nice light you can see the blue stand out more, but most of the time it is a pretty flat color. However, perhaps a clear coat gloss of plasti dip might spice it up?
|
Hahaha that would be very interesting.

Wow that looks sky blue in this picture. I almost kind of see a hint of indigo as well. It will be as blue as that or it will look totally opposite and flat. Do you have a picture where it looks more grey-ish blue/silver?
|
Turns baby blue as the sun goes down. Early morning can seem like Cement color. Under direct light is becomes more silver w/ fine gold flake (Ultramarine/Asphalt flake is rough and coarse for example) and green hues at the edges. Bright spot lit areas almost go white. The paint looks richer and smoother than typical giving it more of finished look where orange peel is harder to spot.
I really don't like Silver cars or Argento at all. I got Silver Ignition, so it's quite a bit different. I love checking it out at different times of day myself. I'll post a pic and a vid later that gives you the best idea, have to bounce. |

2500 isn't very "limited" IMO... If it were like 500, there would be more demand for these. But I see the 10 series sitting around at every dealer.

3 at just one of the three dealerships in vegas

Honestly, the color kills them for me. I love everything about them and would totally pay the extra money for all the added bits, but I don't wanna go rolling around in a baby-blue car.

Correct me if I'm wrong... But isn't this a brz sport tech ( premium... Or limited? The upper option In the states). Just without the glowing badges? How much are these things? Same msrp?

I'm not a fan of silver at all, but I could definitely live with silver ignition. Think of it this way... Silver Ignition is to silver as pearl white is to white. Most pearl whites have a blue/pink "flip" to them as you walk around the car. Same idea, but it's silver with a blue/gold flip.
|
I work with color for a living, and learned a long time ago that color is very subjective, and everyone sees it differently.
I agree with roddy, its more of a pearl than a silver. I dig it. When I saw these online I liked the feature set, but thought 'ehh I don't want silver. When I saw one in person...then it was 'ohh yeah that's a bitchin color'. Guess which one I put my money on  Quote:

I was actually going to vinyl wrap my car when I ordered it. I am not a fan of silver myself but the colour really grew on me when I saw it in real life.
|
I was on the verge or ordering a Satin White Pearl BRZ (gotta have OEM HID and dual AC no matter what) until I saw the Series 10 in the Auto Show. I never had (nor wanted) a silver car but this is the first and only time I found silver appealing. It'd be cool if the FR-S came in Blue Ribbon Metallic.
|
Great, gives me more time to eventually get one.
I know not everyone digs the color but silver is a low maintenance color and I think I saw one in person myself and it's not what it seems on online pictures. It's strange, but I liked it. Ideally I'd want a Whiteout 10 series. Now THAT would be sex.:drool::drool: |
Real life rules!
|
Yeah white would look really sweet with the blue lighting on the emblems
|
White is too high maintenance... baby blue like the old tC would be perfect!
|
^Harder than black? I have a dark blue Civic and it's not too hard. I'd imagine white would be much easier. Then again I'm kind of OCD and an amateur detailer so it's not really a hassle for me to clean a car, lol.
I would miss the satisfaction of the sheen/depth a newly detailed dark car though, lol. |
