Honestly, I kinda do too... but then I might be a lil' prejudiced. I slam my Miata on occasion, but usually keep it at about 2" off the ground (pinchweld measurement). You find different "lines" driving it around town.

I can totally see how this came to be, and I can see similarities with the "rock crawling crowd" - of course at a lower scale...

I still can't really believe people intentionally do this to their cars.. :iono: Whatever works for them I guess, just does not compute in my mind.
