Anyone else get free car washes for life with their FRS?

Just wanted to know how common this was and what kinda wash the dealership offers (Hand Wash, Coupons to a particular wash, Cash Back with receipts)
I bought my FRS in Long Island and was told as long as I have the car I get free washes if the Service Department at the dealership is open.

Anthony 09-07-2013 08:07 AM

Never heard of that. But I don't trust other people washing my car, so I wouldn't use it if I had it.

xXDeathMaliCeXx 09-07-2013 08:18 AM

I've heard of it, but the dealership I bought mine from said they'd give me free oil changes for life. And a dealership I talked to in Florida said that they extend the warranty over the lifetime of the car.

pandora 09-07-2013 08:45 AM

The dealer I got mine from gave me a lifetime engine warranty, free oil changes for as long as I own the car, and free car washes as long as I own the car. I have never used the free car wash because they use a drive thru car wash, and its only free when I get my oil change. I had them do one oil change so far and they put the wrong oil in the car, so from now on ill be providing my own oil lol

All my car washes are free, all it cost me is 40-50 minutes of labor and it relaxes me for the so I think of it as free therapy also.

ZionsWrath 09-07-2013 09:24 AM

Free swirls for life? I'd have said no thanks personally...

Frstorm 09-07-2013 09:27 AM

Zion- another benefit of doing it yourself no swirls.

Mikem53 09-07-2013 09:32 AM

No.. But I did get a free lifetime powertrain warranty..
I prefer that to scratch marks..

Do some drifting and break an axle (with stock everything of course, no modifications) and see if they replace it :D

Burrcold 09-07-2013 09:37 AM

I have it as well, but I leave signs in my car for them not to wash it.

TRD-X 09-07-2013 11:23 AM

I don't let other people clean my car.

Would you let another guy sleep with your girlfriend/wife..??

On a whole I don't care if my car gets totaled, or whatever it's a replaceable machine. But when it comes to washing, maintenance and stuff I feel exactly the same way. I just wish I could paint and bondo, I would almost never have to take it to a shop for anything but the most difficult repairs.

Kelbyat07 09-07-2013 11:34 AM

I get free car washes after i get stuff done to my car, likr an oil change, if that counts.

ZionsWrath 09-07-2013 11:35 AM

My mom lexus is a lease and she gets free washes for every service visit.

It's a swirl bucket. Doesn't help it is black.

ftc~brz 09-07-2013 11:44 AM

free car washes at a dealership = free headaches for a lifetime.

I'm done with service department damages personally.

Turbowned 09-07-2013 11:48 AM

I would just like to point out that nothing is free at a dealership. Except maybe the coffee.

sofrsnsokleen 09-07-2013 12:00 PM

my dealer gave me a free year of washes at the washtub and also free washes when i get an oil change. yes they're both automated washes and probably give swirl marks, but i'm not super anal about stuff like that.

DylanFRS 09-07-2013 12:03 PM

My dealer in Wichita does that. Like you said, as long as the service department is open. It's not the best wash ever and you gotta wait for a little longer because they take your car back, but it is free.

mush 09-07-2013 12:03 PM

Nope not free for the frs. It was free for my lexus... Never used it, i washed the car myself

Dsmith1992 09-07-2013 12:27 PM

Just a caution but i wouldn't use the powerwasher when you wash your car all the time. I was told ,they strip essential elements of the paint that overtime and use, will eventually show the damage it causes (paint fading etc). I too bought a powerwasher for the sole purpose of cleaning this car but after finding this out, I just use it to clean the wheel well and under body when I feel like it ( which is not often- maybe 1 or 2 times a year).

just my 2 cents

ZionsWrath 09-07-2013 02:45 PM

lol nice hear say broscience

rice_classic 09-07-2013 03:23 PM

"And as a bonus, we'll ruin your paint FOR FREE, FOR LIFE!"

Uh... no thanks.

retrosmiths 09-07-2013 04:20 PM

Dealerships will say anything to get you to buy the car.

They have offered me the same (free car wash for life), never used it and never will.

Really only have to worry about the gas powered ones tbh. The electric ones can't put out that much pressure.

kba 09-08-2013 12:18 PM

I got a 5 year detail package. Twice a year for five years, and it came with a warranty for the paint and interior. But it wasn't free lol...

its just like washing your car at an automatic car wash, same concept uses a lot a pressure and i never had an issue over the period of times i had my other cars

Calcium, iron, vitamin C, etc.... Duh... Personally, I crush up a couple multi-vitamins into the wash water whenever I do my car and then for a final rinse, I use milk. You gotta make sure your paint gets its essential nutrients.
