New 86 owner saying hi!

I've been lurking on the site for a while but having taken delivery of my new 86 yesterday thought I'd say hello.

What a car! :happyanim:

It's early days but I can understand why it's so well liked - Toyota certainly did their homework and I'm looking forward to exploring more of the car's potential.

For now, though, it's a careful running in period.

:thanks:

Thanks everyone. This is the new toy as we're keeping our little motorised roller-skate for everyday use. My softness also appreciates a good vehicle when she sees one (used to drive an Audi TT) so she didn't take much persuading

However that Head Unit has got to go!! Toyota's suggested replacement was a cool R12999 + vat through them................................

All strapped in and looking forward to the ride - let the fun begin!

Haven't posted any pics yet but will get round to doing so.

Been looking at the Parrot Asteroid Smart and also one of the Chinese models (T7019A) though I'll probably only renew the HU around Christmas which gives me a wee bit of time before I finally decide. There's plenty of information about the Parrot but not so much about the Chinese model although the you tube videos I've seen make it look well worth considering.

All thoughts and opinions gratefully received :D

I'm a bit biased ;P

Whilst I can certainly see the appeal of FI, if I'm honest forcing more air into a standard high compression engine doesn't feel right somehow. Reducing the compression ratio first would seem a bit like three steps forward and two steps back.

I'll wait and see what issues (if any) develop with FI on this engine over the long term first methinks.

So a head unit it is :D

agree with RMS, after a while nothing else matters. not the radio or the crappy speakers not even the 16" rims, save YOUR MONEY, SUPERCHARGEEEEEER
