Unique Parts/Modifications Thread

I would like to see the unique things everyone is doing to their twin. No out of the box parts or modifications here. Only custom or one-off parts please! :thanks:

Stierzy34 09-04-2013 01:16 PM

I like where this thread is going.

The tree from outside my apartment has uniquely coated my car in custom tree sap.

here's what i did that i didn't see anyone do yet.

shaved BRZ front end, paint matched JDM side markers, baked/painted headlights, yellow DRL to match yellow fogs, one off front splitter and side canards. Genuine alcantara wrapped interior, relocated pushbutton start and heated seats, added a cubby + OEM armrest.

Not really a fan of the two tone, but I REALLY like the stripes on the hood!

Jive Turkey 09-04-2013 04:24 PM

nope. they dont light up at all. i hated them

Steve201brz 09-04-2013 04:29 PM

don't blame you, i had to switch them out for JDM markers just so i didn't cringe everytime i saw the orange stock ones haha

Jive Turkey 09-04-2013 04:33 PM

i was going to mold them into the bumper...but they designed the front bumper to have a pushclip that holds it in place behind the sidemarker...i was VERY annoyed.

Steve201brz 09-04-2013 04:58 PM

yea the clips suck. every once in a while i have to push em back in slightly, vibrates loose or something idk. when i start on my misc. mods way down the road i was thinking about turning them into additional turn signals to see how it looks
what'd you end up shaving off the front end? tire clearance?

i knew Mr. Jive Turkey would have something to post. love the do-it-yourself attitude. if the aftermarket doesn't have what you want; make it yourself!

great stuff guys. this kind of thread should help show the community at large what works and what doesn't. and if it works how to do it!

The radio surround and the piece above the glove box is what I was referring to.

limited. look close to the top of the console. the heated seats are on each side of the knee pads.

White64Goat 09-06-2013 12:01 PM

And it is covered with what exactly please? Thanks. Didn't notice there was no gap between the 2 pieces.

Thongpocket 09-06-2013 12:46 PM

I really like the stripes. Reminds me of the mid 90's when alot of cars did that. Very cool.

its covered in genuine black alcantara.

NYCsubaruBRZ 09-06-2013 01:11 PM

the car is debadged now. everything looks good. EXCEPT THE FRONT BUMPER. when i removed the badge i found a nice fat indent the size of a half dollar. why would you do this subaru!!!!! wtf. so i was thinkin fill it and repaint the bumper.... but thats gonna cost a nice chunk of $$$$$. and for a bit more i could buy an aftermarket bumper.

so my idea....
ima cut out the oval where the badge goes and make that the entrance for the cold air intake...

i will post pics when i get the balls to cut up my stock bumper

wish me luck

Scalzo 09-06-2013 02:13 PM

Can you take a close up of the bumper, I was thinking of filling the holes on the front of the FRS.

I was waiting for someone to do that .. Like teh S2k or 350z with the intake scoop thing on the front bumper for more air to get to the intake,

nalc 09-06-2013 02:17 PM

As far as I know, I'm still the only person with working tactile switches for the BRZ stock head unit.
