Frs 10 series or 2014 ultramarine Frs
 

Hi, I'm pretty new here and this is my first time posting. So I just went to the dealer and there was a 10 series frs there ready for me to buy or order a ultramarine (color I prefer). Also I'm not a big fan of the 10 series paint but still like the keyless entry and headlights. I am at a cross road :/, what should I do? :thanks:

i went for a 10 series because i liked the stock headlights, keyless entry, dual climate control- and the fact that it was limited

Red FRS or Hot Lava or Raven if you don't mind washing ur car every week.
10 Series if you have money. Ultramarine color is alright. I was thinking of getting it too, but not until I saw it in person.

Whiteout? too many on the streets.

I have the ultramarine and its great but if they have a 10 I say get it because it's not going to be there long. I'm no expert in these things but I think the 10 is going to be worth money to collectors. Also check out some pics of the car under different light conditions you might like it better.

Depends on how much you prefer the ultramarine color vs the extras. If you want both on your car then you should be looking at the GBS BRZ and pick up one now since that color was discontinued on the BRZ.

Personally the regular FR-S wasn't even on my list. I was looking at the BRZ Limited because I knew I wanted HIDs and keyless entry and would not buy a new car w/o those two things. Color was secondary. Would I prefer WRB? Yes, but the bluish silver of the 10 Series is pretty cool.

I think the more I read the more clear of what to choose :P I'm just hoping I won't have any regrets but I think having either I would be happy and wouldn't care because there will be a smile on my face when driving it haha

If I hadn't already bought an FR-S and didn't mind the silver color, I'd definitely buy the 10 Series. Keyless entry/ignition, HIDs, automatic climate control... all nice upgrades.

Also the 10 series has a bit of blue tint under the right lighting :)

GBS BRZ Limited. Then you get the color you want and features. That said, you may have a hard time finding one..

Thanks I think the paint will grow me because at the showroom of the dealer it just seems silver to me

I work for Scion/Toyota and I can get my hands on anything I want at anytime. I wasn't going to spend the money on something I did not want. I waited for the 10 series because I wanted those special features and the fact that its limited enticed me as well. But like everyone says...at the end of the day, just do what makes you happy. Just get what you want... Even if you don't like the color, the extra goodies are worth it IMHO.

Me too! I like all the 10 series goodies, but would rather had leather seats than all the light up bits. I also like the 10 series head lights more than the BRZ ones.

u ever owned a car with leather seats?
i had leather seats for 6 months, i dont miss it at all

Get what you want, the bells and whistles are alright but you need to want to look at your car everyday. I love climbing into my ultramarine frs in the morning.

The only emblems I can't easily turn off are on the outside where I don't see them while I'm driving.
I think of the 10 series as an FR-S with a deluxe BRZ interior. The best of both worlds.

They are off while driving anyway... they only light up when you open a door or unlock the car...

Oh sweet they don't light up while driving? I don't mind it that much anymore thanks :P but I would like it if someone could find out how to change it to Toyota badges :D

I'm loving EVERYTHING about my loaded 10 series. Even the welcoming light-up emblems.

I spend half my time staring back at my 10 as I walk away from it.

I hate silver cars, but Silver Ignition is color-changing and it really grew on me. It's blue or grey and sometimes in-between. A BRZ limited is a good compromise. Color AND options.

The only things I don't like about the 10 series are the emblems and the seats still feel like cheesy frs seats. Love the color and headlights tho. Plus their pretty exclusive.

My real question is that since they make 10 Toyota/scions to every subaru, which one is more rare?

emblems are a love/hate thing... everyone that has seem them has loved them even though i thought it was cheezy when i first saw them but they are done very tastefully... and whats wrong with the FRS seats? personally leather is blah to me, i prefer cloth over leather any day...

i prefer the FR-S front (nose) over the BRZ moustache~ but i also want the interior goodies. these are more important to me than the color, so i think the 10 series is my best option.

would it be difficult for a shop to paint (re-paint) a 10-series b/c of the glowing emblems?

Just go with the 10 Series. Last time I bought a car I didn't opt for any of the nice features and I hated it. Get the car with the extra goodies. 10 Series will hold value better in the long run.

just from my perspective:

i was in the same situation as you when i went to the dealer... i was bent on waiting for a 2014 firestorm FRS, that was until i found out all the goodies the 10 series had and i jumped on it right away... i think it was worth it just for the headlights alone...

It shouldn't be any more difficult to re-paint a 10-Series. That said, it might be better for you to buy a BRZ and do a front bumper swap (I remember reading about that in the BRZ section) if you would prefer to have leather seats or the BRZ headlights. Not sure which would cost more or prove more difficult though.

Torn between the FRS 10 front and the BRZ seats!

I went to both dealerships and I didn't notice any difference between the interiors, but my friend said that the steering wheel in the BRZ is closer than the FRS (with the same seating position)
Does this make any sense?

The steering wheel is telescopic... he probably didn't mess with the steering wheel position...

just pulled the trigger today, and i am now the proud owner of a 10-Series :happyanim:
