Final Interior Pics

Here are all of the pics on Scion's web site which show the final production interior. It does have the red accents!

tripjammer 03-28-2012 10:38 PM

It does not look too bad. U go Scion! Good job...but dammit why no red stitching on the Ebrake?

Zgrinch 03-28-2012 10:46 PM

Sorry but those big red accents on the seats are too over the top.
Hopefully there is an option not to have them.

I love those. Infact when I heard the red theme might be dropped for production I was pretty sad. But anyway, there are no options for Scion. None. I know because I placed my order. They all come the same way, with the same seats, and then you can have dealer installed options like radio. But the seats are built this way with the red accents. It's in the build sheets.

Sport-Tech 03-28-2012 10:56 PM

No red accents on Canadian cars (thank you Scion!).

Enemies 03-28-2012 10:56 PM

The first thing I would do is rip out the stereo and throw in an aftermarket. That shit is hideous!

I actually may still consider an Aquamarine FR-S depending on how much Canadians get charged for the BRZ Limited in relation to how much we get charged for the FR-S.

Enemies 03-28-2012 10:57 PM

Also, the red stitching has kinda grown on me. I think I'd rather have it than not. :P

Inappropriate comment about hand on knob!

And yeah, the accents are definitely too much. Almost as bad as that stereo. :P

Stryker Trailwood 03-29-2012 12:10 AM

i can't wait for the RS, all the red is going to match the paint.

ionshards 03-29-2012 12:15 AM

Why does it seem like the ebrake came out of a different car? Leather wheel and shift knob, but rubber ebrake handle. Red contrast stitching on wheel, shift boot, seats, door sills, but black stitching on ebrake... not congruous.

86design 03-29-2012 12:22 AM

wow i actually like the red accents

sprintertrueno86 03-29-2012 12:29 AM

like the red accents

but looks like the fabric is going to start pilling after a few months.

dookie11 03-29-2012 01:27 AM

Dude, those straps for the seatbelts look like crap. They were made of leather on the BRZ Limited.

_hollywood 03-29-2012 02:03 AM

The red stitching reminds me of my old type R, like a little piece of that great car will be with me when im flogging the absolute crap out of it, haha i love it

i agree

Veloist 03-29-2012 03:46 AM

I love everything about the interior, it's exactly how I wanted it. I don't like all the flashy stuff, I prefer the plain and boring look with not too many buttons :)

shaX 07 03-29-2012 08:43 AM

What exactly is the "Snow" mode? I am surprised to see that in this car :eyebulge:

ZetaVI 03-29-2012 08:49 AM

Good HQ pics. The red accents are ok I guess. Doesn't bother me but it would probably look better w/o it.

Chupacabra 03-29-2012 09:02 AM

I wouldn't believe the red is this in your face in person. Red is the most difficult color to photograph accurately, and they probably worked on making the red pop more. That being said, if the red does look too intense, I'm going to try to get some alcantara covers when the aftermarket makes them.

With a certain color, it might not be a clash. It could complement the paint quite well.

On the auto transmission it basically starts you off in second gear to keep you from spinning. Not sure it does anything else.

My MR2 had these same color seats in them except the bolsters were black and the inserts were red. I like to think these are a throwback to that look. Of course since I'm getting a Firestorm, it is OK. Not sure I'd want it on a blue car.

Rampage 03-29-2012 09:38 AM

I like the interior. Does not look like a 25K interior but for this car less is more and that is a good thing.

Spd229 03-29-2012 09:47 AM

anyone else notice the jdm interior has the stitched padding in the footwells on the sides of the center panel (for some reason every name for car interior sections eludes me at the moment, but the center column for hvac, radio, etc), but the frs doesn't? Then again, I don't recall mention of that being included on any U.S models (didn't look hard enough when I checked out a BRZ at the ATL auto show).

Was hoping it would, long cruises would be a bit more comfortable.

I'm also not sure it would look very good on the Hot Lava. I like that Toyota and Scion kept the red on for the US Market. I think it adds a little more personality to the car. And it's another nice touch to the car that completes their vision for us that ties to the heritage of your MR2.

In agreement on the orange, the SE tiburons in 2006 did red leather with a similar body color and personally it looked pretty awful.

Depending on how much the red pops out, in the dark blue offered for the FR-S with tinted windows it may not be too bad given a darker overall interior.

Turbowned 03-29-2012 10:36 AM

Complaints:
-Seat material looks like it would wear quickly (maybe not though; like Dadhawk said, these remind me of the seats I had in my '87 MR2)
-What's with that trim around the window switches - carbon fiber? Looks really fake
-Can't stand the Tonka Tough HVAC knobs - seriously one of the biggest reasons I'm going with a BRZ limited
-Head unit would get thrown out immediately
-Exactly, where's the red stitching on the e-brake boot? Doesn't make sense
-Never liked Scion door sill protectors. Same on the BRZ... I'm waiting for an aftermarket solution

Things I am happy about:
-Door panels look classy :)
-So glad they didn't carry over the red leather steering wheel and gear knob trim like on the Toyota 86. Still not happy about the perforated leather wheel, but oh well

Now if someone will make the shifter surround, bottom steering wheel trim and door handle trim out of real metal and not plastic painted gray to look like metal, I will love them forever and always

Yea, not sure what that material was on those seats but it was tough as nails. Mine had over $150K miles on them and looked almost new with regular care.

At least we got preferated leather on the door panels...U go Scion. At least there is some leather in this car that cost $25k....
