Feeler: Sub Enclosure Group Buy

Did a quick search and didn't see anything on this enclosure.

http://customsubenclosures.com/produ...fer-enclosure/

I contacted them to get more info and some high resolution pictures. They say 10+ people and we can get it at $200 each plus free shipping. 8" and 10" sizes and both driver or passenger sides are available and they can do square openings on request. As soon as they send me more information I'll post it up.

Unofficial List - once the group buy is official I'll start a new thread and merge names over

interested

kmbkk 08-25-2013 12:18 PM

May be interested, depending on sub mounting depth. I know it says 6.5" mounting depth, but not sure if that's for the sub or the entire enclosure.

jimmy4thenguyen 08-25-2013 12:26 PM

tentatively interested

I'll get clarification as soon as they get back to me

Cool, thanks! My subs have a mounting depth of 5.75" so I just want to make sure they fit.

slowmo 08-25-2013 02:57 PM

very interested if they ship overseas

RandomHero 08-25-2013 05:24 PM

Im interested as well. I was looking at integrity concepts bow - which looks awesome but I'm always interested in saving money!

thill 08-25-2013 07:43 PM

I am in for a 10".

BII302 08-25-2013 08:54 PM

Ok got an email back:

Hi Sam,

No problem. So here's how the process works, I can send you an invoice for $2000 ($200/each) and once that is paid, we will start building them. You can give me all the shipping addresses along with detailed information (Customer Name, Subwoofer make and model, location, and carpet color). We will build continuously until all orders are fulfilled. Please note that we only have one pair of templates for the vehicle and so we need to make them one by one. Lead time per enclosure should be about 3 business days per enclosure but we will update each customer when their enclosure has been shipped. Each enclosure will have tracking information as long as they reside within the US.

Unfortunately, we don't have any High resolution pictures at the moment because the person we got our template from was anxious to get them so we didn't get the time to take good photos. We ask that you may feel free to send us a picture if you like.

Hopefully we answered your questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Moses Tablit

6.5" is the max depth for mounting a sub.

asked and waiting on info of their international policies

Also trying to see if i can get one in advanced so I can get pictures and test it out and stuff. I'm sure there's a few people out there that want to know about quality before they buy it since no one really knows about this enclosure.

Couple of people own this, and feedback seems positive. There are some pics in the attached thread as well.

The pictures are of different enclosures, the OP has yet to update with pictures of the one he bought. Would have been nice to at least see pictures of it out of the box.

zeroordie881 08-26-2013 01:34 PM

I'd be interested in one!

I did note realize that.. I am rather hesitant to drop $200 on something without pics as well.

JSK 08-26-2013 05:25 PM

If the quality is good then I might be interested.

Also, are we going to be able to pay them directly or does everything need to flow through you?

boarder1995 08-26-2013 06:04 PM

I've got one on order as of Saturday night (8/24) for a 10" with black carpet. I'll post pics once received. I don't have an ETA yet.

Rumbaar 08-26-2013 07:28 PM

Yes, I'll await on international shipping options. Also how do these kind of things work for RHD vehicles?

Chewie4299 08-26-2013 11:26 PM

Put me down.

Pass side 10"

I'll just collect all the info and emails and forward everything and they'll send you a paypal request for payment

Cool thank you very much, looking forward to seeing how it looks. From what he said it's a 3 day turn around after order, it's possible they were closed Sunday so i'd say 28th/29th you could expect a delivery confirmation at least.

I regret to inform you that they currently are not shipping international as they've had bad experiences in the past and lost money a few times.

http://customsubenclosures.com/contact-us/

You cold try the link or emailing directly if you're really dead set on getting this enclosure. Maybe you can persuade them? but I don't want to bug them too much and potentially sour the deal.

I don't see a reason why they wouldn't fit in a RHD vehicle though. Boot area should be the same.

BII302 08-27-2013 10:11 AM

On a side note, I know there's services for Canadians that let you order stuff and either pick it up or they help with shipping it across the border. I'm located in Ft. Drum/ Watertown NY and have no problem driving north and meeting up at the border if need be. If you paid for gas I would probably even go to Buffalo. I'm sure there are other members that wouldn't mind helping out too

gdrider77 08-27-2013 05:14 PM

Add me to the list

scioneric 08-27-2013 05:55 PM

I am in for a 10 inch

boarder1995 08-27-2013 06:34 PM

An update on my order...
I recieved an email late last night from the vendor inquiring as to which 10" driver I'll be running. Apparently there are small differences that he takes into consideration with the build. He said it'd ship out in a couple days. All things are looking good!

WolfSongX 08-27-2013 11:26 PM

$200 shipped is tempting, is there a specific time frame we are looking at or are we going to be doing this as soon as you have 10 people? I would be interested if I could pay on Sept. 6th (payday)

Awesome to hear. It's nice to know that they have attention to detail with these enclosures and they're not exactly one size fits all.

Once the min of 10 enclosures has been paid they will start production and anyone interested after that will be added to the build list once they pay

From what I take from his response, they don't ship out of the states. If you can get confirmation that he'll ship to you or you have another way of receiving it outside of their systems i'll add you to the list. sorry

You sir have been added to the list.

One more person and we can get the ball rolling. Last I heard they are 5 days back-ordered so the sooner we get these enclosures ordered the sooner we can get them.

Doesn't look really quick to take in and out? Or am I missing a detail here?

Shouldn't be a reason why it wouldn't be quick taking it out or putting it in. Stick it in the corner and secure it down. Caveman easy

I think you mis understood me. I say this as many people like to be able to remove these for weight savings on race days, that is my point. For a DD or street designated of course you're not going to be removing it. Ones like the integrity box have one knob you spin that's it..

Yes I understand that. It's only going to be as easy as you make it. If someone wants to Mcgyver it and install it with rubberbands,a paperclip, and a tube sock I'm sure it will work. Myself on the other hand, am going to just sew some Velcro to the trunk mat and enclosure. I'm sure there will even be a few people who just say screw it and let the speaker wire keep it in position, and yes I have seen people do that.

OICU812 08-30-2013 04:04 AM

fair enough didn't care that much lol... was just an observation..

Industrial strength velcro will have no problem holding this in place for easy track day removal.

We had a moto when I was in the military.. They only buy from the highest bidder that offers the lowest grade/quality :)
