Official: STI Releases SUBARU BRZ tS in Japan [w/ Gallery]

Tokyo, August 19, 2013 – Subaru Tecnica International Inc. (STI)*1 today announced the release of the "SUBARU BRZ tS" which goes on sale on August 19 through Subaru dealerships in Japan.

The inherent handling performance of the Subaru BRZ has been further enhanced by using expertise developed in motorsports while achieving the "strength and nimbleness" driving committed by STI. The "SUBARU BRZ tS" offers a driver "oneness with vehicle" and "agile handling pleasure".

Exclusive tuning such as the adoption of a large-diameter driveshaft and STI's unique flexible parts embodies superior handling performance. Driving performance has also been enhanced by the adoption of "brembo" ventilated disc brakes, 18-inch aluminum wheels and a STI designed front under spoiler. The model comes with special features including the "STI" / "tS" ornaments and exclusively-made fender garnish on the exterior as well as a speedometer with an STI logo inside, which evoke driving excitement and pleasure of ownership.

In addition, "GT PACKAGE" model which is suitable for motorsports enthusiasts is released. The model features a STI designed dry carbon rear spoiler, black colored "BBS" designed 18-inch aluminum wheels and "Recaro" designed front bucket seat.

Sometimes change is cool just for the sake of changing stuff. I think some of the bits and pieces here look really cool, although since I'm not doing time attacks or track days, most of this stuff is wasted on me.

Sux that there's no engine work, but depending on the price, it could be a deal for those of us who want only OE/OE tuned parts.

because it's the off the shelf wheel. Japanese factory tuned cars are typically conservative in this.

Those recaros make my pants tight.

I think that the absolute best part of this car is that I will hopefully be able to get parts for it to put on mine. Some little details like the black instead of silver on the steering wheel, those fender garnishes, etc.

I really do like those fender garnishes.

Recaro seats, fender trim and STi push start are things I want. But the TRD vents are high on my list. The seats are probably too much and I already like my seats.

I need me those seats! And that fender garnish looks pretty bangin.

For a car they call the BRZ tS there are 3 tS logos on the car. And at least 36 STI logos.

Sure you can get warrantied bits and bobs, but the truth is you can get better stuff aftermarket. Btw that wing is somehow more garish than the original STi wing from years back.

I don't care if it isn't any faster in a straight line...that thing is hot. Loving those Recaros and the new gauges. I wonder if it would be possible to get the specially tuned VDC dynamics as a flash to a regular BRZ? I'd love a little more slip angle in sport mode.

Oh em gee! I want the red leather pouch for my key fob! On a serious note, I'd be curios as to how impossible the seats will be to obtain. That's the only thing I'm interested in.
