Hey everyone! I'm new! I bought my BRZ almost a month ago broke 1k a week and a half ago. I love everything about it. I have read as much of the posts on here as I can for information so I figured it was time I start talking :D

Tinted today! 35% MD legal back and sides. Ordered 2" perrin stubby antenna, and LED lights (interior and license place) today.

I'm torn on if I should Debadge and go clear on my side markers. Before and after pics would be awesome. Also I would love to meet up and see some of the BRZ/FR-S mods in person. Pics just don't do our ladies justice. Exhaust in particular! Perhaps this weekend at the Annapolis Cars and Coffee???

How are you working around the window rolling up and down automatically with the door? I fear that would damage the tint while it's still drying.

And debadging is fantastic. Just did mine. Really cleans up the rear. Now I just need my Tom's lights and GT86 tips to get here to finish it off.

Clear corners - Every car for the last decade has been black and I smoked or color-matched the sidemarkers. But the clears look so good on WRB. I think I would want black sidemarkers with a black BRZ.

Not BRZ-related but maybe this will help show how good black sidemarkers look on a black car. This is my previous ride.

I talked about this to the shop. They were cool about it and said there were a couple of cars out there like that. Told me to bring it back in 3 days and he will check it out. If it starts bubbling in those areas he will strip it and replace (no charge).

If you only did the 35% for legal reasons, then I hope you had 40% put in vice 35% or its already too dark to pass the scanner. I did the same thing though and haven't had any issues. ^_^

What part of MD you at? I always wanna find out other 86 owners. I live in silver spring and never see any much :(

@jaylion1 I heard this about 35 minutes after I picked it up! Guess I'll just hope for the best. Until it gets some more love from my wallet (which is empty at current time) and has stock exhaust I don't think I will have any trouble.

I'm having a hard time finding good video/audio of the various UEL header choices out there. I've seen some beautifully TIG'd headers on the forum, but the only videos I've seen aren't matched up with a Perrin full exhaust or any of the other bassy STI-like options. My goal is to get my car sounding like my 05 STI. How does the full Borla sound?

I just did back-to-back trips down to Skyline Drive and over to Dogfish Head Brewery. Far is a relative term. Looked to me like you were just NW of DC. No biggie. I'll probably be picking up a UEL in September. I just need to narrow down which one. I'm definitely going with the Perrin pipes up front, maybe a different catback like the STI or Borla. Need to hear them in person, but that Borla UEL + Perrin back is close. The video sounds a bit tinny, but that may just be the camera's mic not picking up the bass.

@TheseColorsDontRun Not sure where you are in Maryland but if you're looking for a place to get your windows tinted, I would recommend a place in Columbia, MD called Performance Window Tinting. I've had about 4 cars done by them (including the FRS) and never had any problems.

I brought up my concern to them about our windows coming up and down when we open the doors and they already knew about it and said it wouldn't be an issue, and surely the tints been great ever since. In terms of pricing, they're hard to beat. You can check out their website but for the Suntek Carbon Series (a grade up) I believe I paid $140 with a $20/$30 coupon from their newsletter or on their website. Reliable place and their tints come with a lifetime warranty against bubbling peeling fading..pretty much everything. Plus they get it done in an hours time. Hope this helps :thumbsup:

Sexy. I dig that. That I would like to hear in person sometime. It sounds like that may be just a tad too loud for me, but the note is dead on what I'm looking for. Maybe I would throw in another catted pipe (still haven't educated myself on over and mid pipe options). @Pure Automotive might be getting a call from me sooner than I thought.

Excellent thanks for that. I live in Mt. Airy and work in Baltimore, so Columbia is not a bad drive at all for me.

That sounds wicked, but not the bassy note I'm looking for. Is that the 2.5" or 3" Perrin exhaust? Does the resonated version cut out the higher metallic sounds? Next time I'm back home in Ohio I'll try and get a clip of my STI's exhaust now that I've got a new camera.

Maybe cats + resonated = bass?
