For you military folks out there...
|
WTF am I reading. This guy wants military benefits for going on a few jogs with a recruiter in highschool but never joined and instead delivers pizza? Am I reading this right?
|
Did you read the whole thing?
|
No it can't be real. My mind would implode if I finished that.
|
Well you'll never get to experience the very climatic ending. Trololol.
|
Yes read the whole thing. Seems everyone these days are trying to find an angle for getting their government handout. How about giving rather than asking... Pick up the check (anonomously)for a military man next time you see one enjoying a meal in a restaurant.

Wrong, I'm not near a public employee, furthest from it. FYI, I own my own furniture business and am a proud employer of an ex service man (navy). I'm one of the small business people driving what is left of this economy. In addition, I wore the uniform of a police officer for 4 years in a past life and understand how unappreciated many of our civil law enforcement and military people are. Will alway try to pick up the tab for them if possible. It's the least I can do. They also get a 10% discount and free delivery in my store. Thought about posting a reply, just sick and tired of all the people out there wanting all these handouts. Want something, get off your ass and put in the work required to achieve it. |

You guys do know that The Duffle Blog is sort of like The Onion for the military right? If I had a nickel for every "I almost joined" story I've heard I wouldn't have to work for a living.

Yes, it's true. The article is satire. I'd never heard of Duffle Blog when I started reading it though, so I had no idea what I was about to read wasn't completely serious. I caught on before finishing, but man... it got me good. Even when I thought it was serious I was wiping tears from my eyes. I hadn't read a satirical political article that good since that old Axis of Evil one from like... 2002 or so. Not that I go looking for them, though.

You know I could probably tolerate those guys, the ones I can't stand are the ones that try to impersonate military when they A) were never in the service or B) never did the things they claim. I wish that the stolen valor act had been written more clearly to prevent anyone from doing that. |

Btw, using "common sense" as tactic in a debate is a crutch for people that can't rationalize nor articulate their positions. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it's been pointed out that The Duffel Blog is a satire site and that people making responses like yours are being trolled like mofos. Unbunch those panties of yours and use your brains next time instead of knee-jerking about something you clearly didn't comprehend. This is almost as bad as people that take The Onion seriously and/or think that The Colbert Report is some sort of meta-satire. Seems like some people can't follow the rules and not talk about politics either. |
Didn't mean enemy blood dumb f*** meant of your buddies to the left and right of you

I'm glad to have taught you something today. Maybe you should take advantage of the GI Bill that my tax dollars pay for to get yourself a better education instead of wasting time and money on modding your car. You might even learn the proper usage and meaning of irony and satire while your at it! http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instanc...x/19435736.jpg http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...rnet-Troll.jpg |
A large majority of the posts on that site are fake. They also posted articles not too long ago saying that soon, all maried soldiers would either have to get divorced, or be separated from active duty service. They also said that soon, we were going to have to pay a fee to get onto post everyday.
Take it with a grain a salt. Honestly, even if it were true, I wouldn't care. There's so much more jacked up shit going on within the military and the government that this isn't even worthy of being "news" |
