Your Bucket List

This thread got me thinking, what is on your bucket list? Post some things you would like to do, see, or experience before you're pushing up those daisies.

I shall start. In no particular order...

+ Become an orthopedic surgeon

+ Do a ≥40' backflip on a bicycle. In other words, ride a mega ramp

+ Exceed 200mph on a motorcycle

+ Scuba dive in at least 5 really exotic places

+ Have a full blown South American ayahuasca experience

+ Get fully certified in accelerated free fall so I can jump unassisted

+ Visit The Great Pyramids

+ If at all possible within my lifetime, go into space

+ Drive the Nürburgring. Bonus points for doing it in an awesome car

+ Talk to Jacque Fresco in person

+ Attend an Isle of Man TT

EDIT: Not really a bucket list item, but a good related article: Roads to Drive Before You Die

No one has any goals?!

bumperhumper 08-07-2013 01:43 PM

Another aspiring surgeon in the house. Still haven't started rotations so I cannot get more specific

Too lazy to write any other goals at the moment

Anthony 08-07-2013 01:49 PM

Too lazy to write a comment. Totally up for becoming a doctor.

PERRRRFECT.

Fuckin' right! Haha I may copy yours.

But seriously though, that really is one of the reasons I posted this: to get some more ideas of cool shit to do.

whaap 08-07-2013 02:10 PM

I'm at a point in my life where I can look back on the things I've done and realize I accomplished most of the things I wanted to do. I jumped out of airplanes. I sailed with some friends from San Diego to Radio Bay in Hilo, Hawaii. While stationed in Japan I obtained my first degree black belt in Judo. I had a very interesting stint of seven years being a cop in the suburbs of Detroit. I rode motorcycles for over 60 years with only one roadway accident four years ago which was my last ride.

Looking back there was really only one thing I would like to have done and never did. While living in San Diego I would like to have learned to surf but that's not really bad as I was too busy sailing and riding motorcycles.

Anthony 08-07-2013 02:14 PM

Not sure how Detroit was at the time you were a cop there, but if it was anything even remotely like it is today, then that's the most impressive part of all of those things! Haha I hope one day I can say something similar.

Well, the 200mph Club Membership seems to be a pretty universal goal.

kanundrum 08-08-2013 01:02 AM

I didnt know that was a Thing ? Ive been Close in a car but not the big 200 well by close I mean 170 lol

Nm to Own a car that goes 200mph?

Anthony 08-08-2013 01:41 AM

It's not an actual club, just more of a phrase I hear people refer to. Just like the Mile High Club.

170 in a car is pretty damn fast. I think the fastest I've ever been in a car was like ~160 in my friend's 2006 Corolla in 2007. I wasn't driving though, just riding shotgun. My R6 tops out at 163, so you have actually gone faster in a car than I have on a bike, which is impressive!

sklimo 08-08-2013 01:54 AM

My fastest is 182 in Ferrari 458 Italia I rented in Vegas. Gotta love the desert on out skirts!

I won some Money so I splurged. $2500 for the day and $10, 000 security deposit. I won $15, 000. Got my 10 stacks back. And still smiling

Re~Mix 08-08-2013 02:12 AM

+ Find a job I truly am excited to show up to day in and day out

+ Live in a house with a 2-3 car garage that I can turn into a workshop for my cars

+ Own an Aston Martin for at least 1 year

+ See the 7 wonders of the world

+ Help my parents retire to wherever they choose

+ See the sun rise over the pyramids, the amazon, the serengeti

+ Have the patience to realize I cannot have all this at 24 just yet

Luis_GT 08-08-2013 02:12 AM

My fastest has been 155 MPH in the M3... not enough straights here to be able to do more... plus the roads suck...

To bad I did this before I could:

I hit 167 on mine, but we all know how the speedos are on bikes, could be +/-~5 mph haha...

Sorry to thread jack, maybe I'll pick up a dedicated track bike and stay off the streets for a bit.

You'll get a lot less dead. My street riding days came to an abrupt stop as soon as I went to the track for the first time. Didn't mean for it to, but street riding just got instantly lame. My mom is real psyched about it haha.

Hold on a second there. How the fuck do you get a corolla up to 160mph? Or did you mean 160km/h, which would make a lot more sense...

Anthony 08-15-2013 12:55 PM

Nope, I completely mean one hundred and sixty miles per hour in a 2006 Corolla XRS.

I do like how no one brought that up until just now though. I got a good LOL out of it.

"Oh, that guy just said he went 160mph in a Corolla. Well that's just fine. Just fine." - Everyone until just now

Kiske 08-20-2013 09:47 PM

Meet the perfect wife.

My own home with a badass shop.

Skydiving. No tandem shit either.

I've played guitar my whole life but, never had the guts to preform for anyone. Do it once.

Visit Japan and Venice.

Go to one of those performance driving schools for better myself. Self teaching only goes so far...

Should no. 1 and 2 happen I'd like to host our first family reunion/cook out at said place. Other than bro/sister, parents and grandparents the rest of my family I don't even know their names...
