|
Thats a little bit hard to swallow for 8k.
|
Am I to understand that gear lever/knob is worth AU$800? What else does the Automatic not get?
Also, you guys down under didn't get sat-nav from the start? |
tldr repost
|
LOL8KYEAHNOTHANKS.
For that price, I could put a fully tuned twin screw supercharger, full exhaust, and coilovers on the car... |
Remember, kids. This is $8000 in upside-down Monopoly money.
|
$8K AUD would probably translate to ~$6-7K USD if sold here.
Keep in mind all these parts carry a factory warranty, unlike aftermarket warranty-yourself-as-you-go parts. -alex |
hmmm yeah...how about....no...
Even assuming this kit would be cheaper in the US, anything over 5k to get your car looking not even drastically better, is not worth it. For $6-7K only in cosmetic upgrades, I could make my BRZ look like a total badass. And to the ones saying "warranty", mmm yeah...warranty on a shift knob and a STI badge are not that....useful. Anyways, disappointing. |
It took 37 minutes for someone to say that it was a repost. You guys are slacking.

For Subaru, they might make 1000 of these cars and sell it as a "sports kit" and provide full factory warranty of 3 years, with the standard parts warranty of 1 year. For the buyer, sometimes they want a "modded" car with no dealer hassles on the parts installed. $7k for a sports kit makes zero sense to me as well, but to someone else it may be a worthwhile buy. FWIW I have my complimentary oil change from Subaru, and I plan on not using any of them. To 90% of the forum, it's a great freebie. To me, it's an arbitrary schedule that I do not plan on using/following. One man's trash is another man's treasure. -alex |
Yeah $8k crazy... I'm just hoping the STI rims will be avail via order from the local dealer without having to pay the current japanparts shipping costs.

They are not even 18" though. I was thinking if this package becomes available in US I would get the rims too, but now that they published they are 17" STI instead of the 18" BBS-STI rims that they initially showed last year, then it doesn't make too much sense to get them. All in all the package is pure fail. I would get the STI push to start and shift knob, but that's about it. |

Checked these out a couple months ago. Subaru AU just picked a few parts out of the JDM STI catalogue.

The other model announced was the Possum Bourne Motorsport BRZ, it has some nice new parts that I'm hoping they will sell separately.
