Good deal on a 2013 Brz...
I am from the Bay Area, California and have worked hard and finally have saved enough for my next vehicle.
Considering I have good credit, where is a good place (Dealership, online, etc) to purchase a brand new 2013 Brz limited in the Bay Area?* I really want to get a good deal and really want to avoid paying way above MSRP or paying for one with a high dealer markup. Let me know guys. Thanks in advance! |
I would build one on the Subaru website with all the stuff you want it will give you a quote bring that in and they will honor it.:happy0180:

I would look into Livermore Subaru. I just bought a Limited from them not too long ago. They wanted ~1k above msrp, but I talked them down to 250$ above. I could have probably gotten more out of them, but I was just happy to get the car...
Just checked and they have 3 limited models on the lot according to their website. |

I'll see if they could sell me one at MSRP. Thanks for the input as well! Quote:

Why would you want it at MSRP if you could get it for $600 over invoice??

Or my below _______.

To the OP:
I bought my car from a certain dealer in Colorado Springs. Here's what I did to register the car in CA: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=410 As for price, I know it varies... but: MSRP on the BRZ I have came out to (roughly) $29500. After CA tax and even accounting for the gas money driving back (I used my points to fly out there), I paid $30500 from this certain dealer. I highly doubt any dealer can beat that price. -alex |

I had consider getting one out of Colorado, but I didn't want to have to deal with smog, vehicle inspection, or the DMV. Plus you still have to get the car back either by transport $800 or driving it back (4 hour flight + 18 hours driving). |
You have about 4 more months and the 14's should be coming out. Just wait and you will get a GREAT deal.
|
I'm picking my BRZ up from Clint on Tuesday! Making a vacation out of it as well(A week in Colorado :)). So with flying out there, 4 nights of hotels, and gas I am still paying less than any dealer near me(I mean a lot less).

Really hard to beat... Quote:
Thanks for the link as well man! Quote:
If you think about it, smog, going to the DMV for vehicle inspection can be a hassle. Driving back for 18 hrs can also be very tiring. Quote:

I know how you CA residents feel...dealerships here in NY don't have much in the way of BRZs, and the ones they DO have are either the wrong transmission, ludicrously overpriced, or both. I wouldn't have minded an FR-S (through I prefer the BRZ) but the story was the same with any local Scion dealer...AND they refuse to haggle. So, I looked elsewhere. What I ended up doing was to order a BRZ from Ramsey Subaru in NJ for $500 under invoice (so 26.5k) going through a salesman there who runs a car purchasing program on the ClubWRX forums. The total out the door cost to me for a Limited with no additional options was just a hair over 29k, which was by far the best deal I could find in the Northeast. And while Ramsey can ship cars anywhere in the country through a handful of 3rd party shippers, everything I've seen on these forums about Clint and Heuberger says that's the best way to go in that part of the country. I have no experience with him or Heuberger personally but I have yet to read a bad review. ...on a side note, waiting another month and a half to get my car is killing me but hopefully it'll be worth the wait! |
I'd try Livermore Subaru, got mine for MSRP. Go to any other dealer in the Bay and prepared to get ripped.

True, or pick up a diff color. All the colors look amazing, or get a used one.

I'm still searching around the bay area since picking up a BRZ in another state requires me to have it smogged, going to the DMV to have it inspected, and giving the paperwork to them. To must hassle on my part. Besides that, if i didn't opt for the out of state Subaru dealership to have it shipped to me, that will be an 18 hr drive for me to come back. Anyways, if I cant find one by the end of September, i'll just go for Clint instead. Quote:

Seeing those numbers, Clint still has a better deal on the limited manual at invoice. Quote:

Iif anyone around here is looking for a "good deal" around Austin TX, you are screwed my friends. Every single Subaru Dealer in 250 mil radius (yes that includes Houston and Dallas) is not willing to sell BRZs for less than the MSRP + small markup. Even though the 2014 models will be available for ordering next month, with delivering date of October. My suggestion is if this guy Clint, is actually selling BRZs at "Fair price" or less, (look KBB to find that out) then you will have a better deal in a BRZ if you live around Texas. Which brings me to my question for Clint: 1) How does the warranty/maintenance works after I buy from you? Does my local Subaru dealer has to honor both even though I didn't buy it from them? 2) Does the vehicle gets registered in CO, and then I have to do a transfer to TX? or do I register my vehicle in TX, therefore paying taxes here? I'm planning to buy my '14 BRZ this September/October. You seem like a good option for me, at least price wise. Also to clarify some of the previous comments: There is MSRP, Fair Price and Invoice. You do NOT want to pay MSRP for a car, ever. If you pay that plus a markup, then I don't know what to say to you. The way you buy a vehicle is doing some research in KBB and looking at the "fair price" and the range of prices that dealers have been selling that vehicle in your area. Anything at a Fair Price or less is a decent deal, not necessarily "good". I only call "good deal" when you are actually paying less than the range of selling prices for that specific vehicle, which only happens if there is a special deal, sale or high volume dealerships, like First Texas Honda in Austin or this guy here. |

Which brings me to my question for Clint: 1) How does the warranty/maintenance works after I buy from you? Does my local Subaru dealer has to honor both even though I didn't buy it from them? Yes Subaru warranty goes with the car. We're the number one dealer In the US. And I specifically sell BRZS and STIS. Dealers may give you slack when they see my plates on car so you call me and we get it squared. 2) Does the vehicle gets registered in CO, and then I have to do a transfer to TX? or do I register my vehicle in TX, therefore paying taxes here? You register vehicle in TX and pay local sales tax. I'm planning to buy my '14 BRZ this September/October. You seem like a good option for me, at least price wise. Just for anyone in NJ, TX, CA, NY, MA. Every customer I have sold a car to my Price with dealer and handling, and shipping has been cheaper than they're prices out there. Most the time my price is still below i----- with shipping and DH included for those who doubt. Best! |

This is the procedure in CA, but if the dealer you're buying from knows what to do with out of state sales, they will not title the car in the state you're buying from and let you do your own title and registration. I don't know what everyone's deal is with the CA DMV. I planned ahead and spent probably a total of 90 minutes from start to finish to prepare all the extra paperwork to finish this. I went to the local Sheriff's station AND smogged within 60 minutes of each other, and the DMV (with appointment) took no more than 15 minutes in/out. Putting it in plain English: I did my own paperwork, saved $2500-6000 (depending on local SoCal markup). Bought myself a drink. Patted my own back. Tooted my own horn. Quote:

When I bought my car, I called every dealer in CA. No one would sell for lower than MSRP. Maybe they're BSing me but I bought based on what was available at time of purchase. -alex |
Did you contact the internet sales guy? If you call or walk in, it will always be a higher price.
|
I got mine for 27k flat, not a cent over...

Mind you, this is after I talked with the entire dealer with me giving a different name each time I called. -alex |
