I'm also very much considering this. Gotta check the calendar. What run group is everyone in?

I've run Carbotech XP8's at VIR (in my old ITR) for at least 3-4 full weekends and quite a bit of (noisy) street use. I can't imagine going through a set of pads in a day, then again VIR is pretty easy on brakes in my experience. Really only 2-3 big braking zones (and the one in Roller Coaster is helped quite a bit by a pretty steep hill and gravity), plenty of cool-down time in the straights. |

@xjohnx is that E85 in Petersburg any good? I don't know how to get enough down there and want to run E85 on the track.

As for VIR, i wouldn't think twice about your pads. It's surprisingly easy on them, IMO. |
This iRacing video of VIR is surprisingly accurate, gives you a good feel for the elevation changes, especially the hill in the braking zone at the end of the back straight. it also makes me want to try iracing now. dammit.

As for other events that you are missing, the Mid-Atlantic region for NASA has events at both Summit Point and VIR as well. See http://www.nasaracing.net/?page_id=13 I might start doing some NASA events next year as I want to get into doing some time trialing but I'm sticking with TrackDaze for this year while I learn the ropes. |

I plan to do Track Daze - Summit Point (Shenandoah) Oct 5-6 as well. |
Hotel room reserved for Track Daze - VIR Aug 26-27

Glad I checked in here - way easier for me to to get a couple days off work than to take a weekend off from family activities. I had check VIR's calendar and saw nothing until the NSX club in October. Aug 26-27 shows as "private testing" on the VIR calendar.
Would have to decide between continuing with the 944 or switching to the FRS. |
Maybe next year I will hit up some of these events. I'll stick to auto-x this year. This seems a bit too expensive for me right now but does sound fun. :(

I'm attending the Hyperdrive on the 17th. It's just 30 minute session, but it's worth it.
