My quad halo/angel eyes

My brother and I just finished these up this past weekend. I LOVE how these look. They turned out so well. It took all day, but I feel like it was well worth it. Just wanna show them off cause I'm proud!

Got the inspiration from this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33559

I was initially going to black it out too, but I wanted to keep it as "OEM" as possible. So that I do, but don't draw attention. :P

I'll see if I can swing by the next meet to show them off! :)

Nice. Those actually look pretty good and OEMesque.

Looks slick man

Wonder what blacking out the housing would look like with the halos. Great job BTW looks good.

86 FRS 07-23-2013 04:34 AM

retrofit HIDs too or just halos?

phanguy 07-23-2013 04:43 AM

thanks for the compliments everyone! :) will take some night shots soon!

projectors for the lows are stock. but it's a pnp hid kit in there. it would have been a good time to do proper retrofit projectors, but it's just too expensive for me when the way it works now is just fine for my tastes.

damn! looks nice tho. i wish i have the time and courage to do all this.. i want a proper retrofit and blackout headlights.

You should have blacked out the inside, it'll make em stand out more. Still nice tho....

MidLife&luvIt 07-23-2013 11:37 AM

Those look great!

TOZER 07-23-2013 12:03 PM

I applaud you for going for it but it just doesn't suit the car in my opinion

retrosmiths 07-23-2013 12:07 PM

I was going for this before, but I realize that the inner, smaller halos don't fit the flow/curves of the headlight.

Anyway, good job! Check out my Mini H1/G37 retrofit, I took out the entire chrome assembly inside, lol.

Looking good bro. Definitely looking forward to some night shots and shots of the beam against the wall.

What LEDs did you use to line the bottom of the housing with? Not many cars can pull that look off but the FRS looks amazing with that. Makes it look like an Audi or Lexus that came stock like that.

BigFatFlip 07-23-2013 01:33 PM

Nice, got that bimmer look to it

but that would have defeated my idea of not standing out too much... :P

i'm not using leds at the bottom. i think you're seeing the reflection in my bumper! although i was thinking about doing that too, but i feel like that may have been overkill on lights. but we won't know until someone else does it. :D

Those look great! Nicely done.

ST185RC 07-23-2013 03:17 PM

Wow, that looks very nice. First set of DIY lights that I spent more than 2 minutes looking at.

x96nax 07-23-2013 11:09 PM

Oh, the last picture really looked like there were LEDs on the base of your headlight housing. Someone should really do it! It'd be extremely unique!

Coming from the Miata world, we often fabricate our own parts because it's the cheapest option. I'm still working on fabricating my own custom retrofitted flush headlight housing by moulding plexi glass to create the cover and building the base out of aluminum.
Gotta love learning things from other forums so you can apply them to your own car!

phanguy 07-24-2013 01:27 AM

I tried taking some night shots... but I only have an iPhone and it wasn't able to show the halos with the light bleeding them out. So you guys will just have to see them at the next meet! :P
