What fuel do you use poll

90-93 with up to 10% ethanol

90-93 non-ethanol

93+ racing fuel

E85

Other

OnkelC 07-19-2013 02:37 PM

it's called "Super+" here, 98 octane and up fuel. the two bigger fuel chains, Aral and Shell, have 102 and 100 octane fuels on tap, I usually go for the Aral stuff with 102 octane.

Re~Mix 07-19-2013 02:53 PM

Shell 91-VPower. Cali, loaded up with ethanol

dabocx 07-19-2013 03:16 PM

Shell 93

Ghost 86 07-19-2013 03:21 PM

I have only used shell 93 v power since I've had it and its all I ever used in both my s2000's and my evo x. It's the best fuel available in my area

MVJ1975 07-19-2013 03:25 PM

Sunoco 93 (10% ethanol), usually.

ModBargains.com 07-19-2013 03:28 PM

If I could find gas without ethanol I would find it, but in California that's hard to find. So I'm at 91 Octane and voted with 10% ethanol.

Mandy 07-19-2013 03:32 PM

93 w/ ethanol. I with there was a non-ethanol station near me, but the closest one is nearly 30 miles away, and you have to be a member of a yacht club to fill up there.

sevi21 07-19-2013 03:39 PM

93 octane V-power only, has ethanol

Aaron_blatherwick 07-19-2013 04:12 PM

I thought this would be a great topic to discuss, I just switch from using 92 at chevron with up to 10% ethanol to a Conoco 90 non-ethanol. It is .50 cents more that the premium 92 with up to 10%. I think is really makes a difference in throttle response and power in general. I am on my second fuel tank of it and the mpg is up also, I'll give it more time before I give a number of how much but it's at least 1-2 mpg ave better

Obja 07-19-2013 04:14 PM

which one is the 93 octane you get from QT?

charged86 07-19-2013 04:27 PM

E85 now :)

topazsparrow 07-19-2013 04:38 PM

I use 94 octane from Chevron.. Its not racing fuel though.

FRSBRZGT86FAN 07-19-2013 05:11 PM

The octane ratings are tad bit different for the international users!

strat61caster 07-19-2013 05:12 PM

91 E10 at the cheapest convenient station. Crickets are gone now at 11k miles, and when I tried the more expensive stuff 5k miles back and the crickets only got louder (shell I think).

Diode Dynamics 07-19-2013 05:14 PM

BP 93 Octane, best gas out there

Nick C.

fistpoint 07-19-2013 06:06 PM

Oddly, so far the 10% Ethanol crowd seems to almost exactly mirror the cricket poll numbers.

Dezoris 07-19-2013 06:09 PM

93 Shell w/corn
93 Mobile w/corn

Quit BP after they destroyed the gulf.

Muaddib 07-19-2013 08:30 PM

Chevron 94 E0.

pmdc 07-19-2013 09:22 PM

91 ethanol free. In NS the highest we have is 91, and all stations are 0 E.

Really? I've never had anything but problems with bp. They are usually ranked low in fuel quality as well. Interesting

Celica00 07-19-2013 10:08 PM

91. 10% ethanol.

Do you guys have ethanol yet? The UK gets it later this year. Any fuel-pump crickets in Germany?

sprintertrueno86 07-19-2013 10:13 PM

93 Mobil, no crickets no chirps with 8xx miles.

*fingers crossed*

Faceless 07-19-2013 10:34 PM

Only place with 93 close to me is BP so thats what goes in, if no BP then I get 91 from QuikTrip. Just started getting crickets in the last 200 miles and have about 5500 on the car.

DIM 07-19-2013 10:38 PM

Only used Shell V-Power. 91/93, whatever's available.

"Ethanol" as in E85? yup, but only at very few stations at the moment. And no fuel pump issues known as of late.

Anthony 07-20-2013 03:10 AM

I use 93 ethanol-free and voted accordingly. But I just did a search for an E85 source near my house. Last I checked, the nearest one was over 90 miles away, but now there is one <12 miles from my house.

Is it better to run this in a completely stock car? I know the high horsepower guys use it, but is it good for engine longevity outside of racing? If E10 is bad for most cars, it seems like E85 would be horrible.

bkblitzed 07-20-2013 03:20 AM

in cali there's no e85 around me so 91 :\

roddy 07-20-2013 03:23 AM

I use either Petro Canada Ultra94 with 10% crickets, or Shell V-Power 91 which has no ethanol in my area.

I wouldn't use E85 stock or otherwise without being tuned for it.

ihaskrayon 07-20-2013 12:47 PM

California 91 :(

I like to only use Shell, although when I got the car it came with a free tank of gas and on the road trip back I filled with Chevron once. But now that I'm able to, Shell will be my choice

I suspected as much. It's exciting to know there's actually one nearby now though. One day...

knipple 07-20-2013 02:52 PM

Shell V-Power 93 with 10% Ethanol

Scionshaun 07-21-2013 02:51 AM

What I we use the lowest grade does it hurt the engine?

Anthony 07-21-2013 02:58 AM

wat

Scionshaun 07-21-2013 03:03 AM

I meant to say, what is the lowest grade can we use. Will there be a major difference if we use a lower grade?

Muaddib 07-21-2013 03:54 AM

91 octane would be the lowest octane you would want to use.

Diode Dynamics 07-22-2013 10:39 AM

BP 93 all the way! lol

Nick C.
