GT86 will be at goodwood festival of speed

I dont know if you ever heard about the festival of speed at goodwood? It is a fantastic motorsport event in great britain with sportscars from every decade you can imagine. News from twitter show us a red and a blue gt86 at the press/media day. Seems like Frank Wrathall will start at the festival in a GT86

Thats what he wrote on twitter:

"perfectly balanced, huge amounts of grip, great fun.. Great car. Oh and really comfortable too!

Too bad Toyota still didn't have an F1 team, they could let their drivers at it.
Nice to see it's all cammed up for hopefully some cool vids of the hill climb course :-)

the black stripes on a white frs with the trd kit = the new panda scheme?

edit: interesting the stripes are actually different from the dubai car.

Some day, before I die, I'm going to go to a Goodwood Festival.. So much history and just downright awesomeness.

That orange Aventador kills everything IMHFO!!!

This red GT 86 is the one used in Spain for the media testing. Good one.

^ there is a reference to "auto box" in the text with that video - anyone know if was running a manual tranny or not? Shifting seemed very quick.

AWESUM. is it me or does the ride height look lower on euro spec models??

switchlanez 03-21-2012 04:23 AM

^Yeah the wheel gap looks pretty even and better than what I remember seeing of US models. The suspension might have been modified for show? :iono:

It's so flattering to see this car holding a spot alongside such great sports cars. Makes you forget the phrase "budget sports car." The car isn't even out yet... I hope it's not exceeding itself.

_hollywood 03-21-2012 04:30 AM

The car looks extra aggressive in these pics, man i am going to love this car, i hope it becomes a well respected car in the automotive world,

I think even the supercar guys appreciate a car that it purely devoted to the driving experience

I'm thinking the same thing. Possibly modified the suspension. That's what it seems to me.

GT86 is a true sports car! Beautiful.

And wow those old sport cars... love them :)

Not just holding a spot, but looking like it belongs there. With wheels and a drop this thing could pass for seriously high end machinery.

Hey Toyota... How about you drop a leftover testbed LFA V10 into the 86 for shits n giggles yeah?

Huge amount of grip? I thought the whole point was not to have too much grip.

I think it means that GT86 has good mechanical grip (suspension,LSD,weight distribution?), although it doesn't have high grip tires. According to Chris Harris GT86 is quite challenging car to drift!

Infernal 03-23-2012 07:04 AM

if the GT86 is there then i might go this year - would be silly not to considering i work for the sponsor ^^

edit: steering wheel is on the wrong side on both cars!!! wtf
