Things I wish I could get on my FRS/BRZ thread

To clarify for those of you confused on this thread. Post things you want the aftermarket (can be crazy) to make or things you wish Toyota would offer as options! Personally I would like my list to be stock options but I know I would want carbon fiber body kits as an AM option.

1. A turbo
2. A Big Brake Kit
3. A Duck-bill spoiler
4. Wider Fenders
5. More Diffusers
6. Toyota (not scion) badges! (just for looks)
7. Diff. options!
8. Wider stock wheels/tires 245-275 would be really nice maybe even 19s!
9. Stock Camber adjustments! TOE IN BITCH!
10. Stripped down bare-bones version without all the garbage (aka. airbags, back seats, random trim and electronics, ect.)
11. Recaos!!!
12. Quad Exhaust tips (just for looks again lol)
UPDATE:
13. PRE-ROLLED AND FLARED FENDERS!!!!!!!

Dadhawk 03-14-2012 11:49 AM

I'm assuming the price and delivery date don't count. :)

1. Duckbill Spoiler
2. NAV system (non BeSpoke)
3. Black Badges (don't like the chrome, OK with Scion)
4. K&N Air Intake

86fanatic 03-14-2012 12:14 PM

I'd like Xenons on the Scion, and maybe a gauge which tells me how many miles left on the remaining fuel.

FRSDREAMER 03-14-2012 12:16 PM

1. K&N Air intake
2. Brembo brake kit
3. TRD exhaust

Turbowned 03-14-2012 12:37 PM

1. TRD S/C kit
2. TRD exhaust
3. 4-pot/2-pot brakes
4. Factory Recaros
5. Bilstein adjustable coil-overs
6. Better wheels/tires

Ryephile 03-14-2012 02:35 PM

Having sat in and seen the car up close and in-person, I can say my list is now different than it may have been prior. I'm also not a pie-in-the-sky sort of dreamer, so my list is rather pragmatic.

*Wheels with more appropriate offset [too much tuck w/OEM wheel]
*1.5" less wheel gap w/out screwing up suspension geometry
*JDM exhaust tips, stainless axle-back exhaust
*UEL headers option
*cleaned up engine bay [i.e. have a German engineer rework the Alternator, A/C, fuel lines, and wiring harness from being so ugly and in-your-face]
*more adjustments designed into suspension: i.e. front camber & caster
*TRD duckbill or Nur/Gazoo basket handle wing in place of awkward BRZ spoiler
*windows up & down with key fob lock & unlock buttons
*ability to lower rear seat back from the cabin
*7-speed manual, same ratios as current 6-speed but with a 6AT-esque overdrive ratio for Interstate cruising.

Just for fun, things I'd keep the same:
*the front seats, ergonomics, seating position
*the steering wheel, the shifter
*naturally aspirated
*tire size and model choice
*modest brakes [DD intent for me]

The fenders are prerolled

Sport-Tech 03-14-2012 02:58 PM

The option to have automatic rev matching/throttle blipping on downshifts with the manual transmission (a la 370Z).

Less wheel gap.

MOAR ALUMINIUM PARTS

Why would you want that?

I suck at it ill admit but its something i want to learn to do properly (and Heel-Toe)

If we keep throwing electronic gizmos at manual transmissions the experience will end up being the same as playing a video game with a racing wheel/shifter setup.....you do nothing but shift while the car does everything else for you.

Dry sump lubrication
Factory brake cooling ducts

Oh, and I also want more weight. For safety when the SUV hits me.

Hell to the yes. Well with 7 speeds, 1-4 could be a tiny bit closer, 5 is fine at 1.00, 6 could go to 0.8something, and then 7 could be 0.6ish. I hope by the time manual transmissions are basically dead, Porsche isn't the only one who's made one.

merlin2111 03-14-2012 04:56 PM

The BRZ interior.

tree fingers 03-14-2012 05:03 PM

a proper, inline four. :x
slightly less wheel gap
adjustable OEM top-hats [?]

subatoy 03-14-2012 05:18 PM

balls

NERO 03-14-2012 05:30 PM

I'm okay with the way it is, but I would to be able to order the vehicle the way I want it like the rest of them. Other than that here's my list;

Big Brake Kit
Turbo
Moonroof
Push Button Start
Duckbill Spoiler

taosracer 03-14-2012 06:01 PM

oil pressure, coolant temp, and oil temp gauges (nav delete)
less weight (airbag delete)
more torque
body in white option
less waiting ;)

neveronlinefrs 03-14-2012 06:20 PM

A stripped version without radio,NAV and AC. With light weight wheels and swift springs or KW coilovers, depending on intentions and budget, ti shift ball, tinted Windows, cf front lip, Monaco rear view mirror, craft square door mirrors, RAM air intake, header, ti single exit exhaust and a tune ;)

Then ill be good to go...lol

SunnyD 03-14-2012 06:30 PM

Oil temp gauge and HIDs for the FR-S

Mango22 03-14-2012 08:31 PM

I'd be happy with just the MSRP at this point...

I could use a 7th on my Exige, as it revs at 4k RPM @ 80 MPH, which is totally unnecessary. I have to be honest, however, my VW Mk6 GTI was the first car I owned where I instinctively tried to shift to 7th when I finished accelerating on an on-ramp one day. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't there. :iono: I also hope others jump on the 7MT bandwagon before the 3rd clutch pedal disappears forever from new-car dealerships.

Bristecom 03-14-2012 10:03 PM

I'm a little confused by this thread. I guess this means things we want regardless of their existance. But I'll try to keep my list realistic:

HID/LED headlights
Fog lights
Navigation system with MirrorLink
SiriusXM/FM/HD/Pandora radios
Bluetooth phone and audio streaming (with full Android support)
HomeLink
Leather/Alcantara seats (with no heating)

Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires
BBS RF forged aluminum wheels
Brembo brake calipers and two piece front discs
Endless brake pads and fluid
Goodridge brake lines
Ohlins DFV coilovers with Eibach springs
BMC air filter

86fanatic 03-14-2012 10:11 PM

Seems like HIDs are a pretty common request, unfortunately I don't think any Scion has ever come with factory hids. Since it's coming from the same BRZ factory I'm hoping they are at least an option in year 2.

_hollywood 03-14-2012 10:41 PM

Tire sponsorship, i only need 2 every month:burnrubber:

Release Series FR-S with Xenon, Auto Climate, LED DRL's, Keyless Entry/Push Button Start

Nafe 03-15-2012 01:47 AM

If you want AWD turbo, buy a WRX. The plus of that is you can do it today.. You don’t have to wait any longer!
To be honest, there isn’t much I think I need “factory” wise. Aftermarket/TRD (pending options from TRD) will be extractors/full exhaust, intake kit, coilovers (TRD if they are affordable), front strut brace, decent stereo (no nav or anything though), better wheels and tyres.
I’d like the TRD bodykit, but that will be expensive. I also love the TRD quad tip exhaust, but that will only fit neatly with the TRD rear bar...
I am down for a set of gauges for oil temp, oil pressure and coolant temp.
Eventually a set of a cams and a tune would be nice.

To the dude who said UEL headers from factory.. I am certain the factory headers are UEL?

Ryuu0u 03-15-2012 02:11 AM

An LFA v10 option  or at least a v8.

bestwheelbase 03-15-2012 02:58 AM

Seat warmers.

CyberFormula 03-15-2012 03:44 AM

1. Better looking stock wheels
2. Xenon headlights
3. brembo brakes (not really necessary)

The ONLY thing auto revmatching would bypass is the heel-toe downshift, a technique that is tricky to master and I suspect many will not be willing to risk learning on a new car. From all the reviews I have seen this driving aid (which it should be noted CAN be turned off should you not want to use it) works fantastically well, allowing the driver to concentrate fully on maintaining the car's maximum momentum through the twisties without obsessing over shifting techniques. For those who do not want to try to learn heel-toe, for whatever reason, revmatching tech will increase their enjoyment and involvement in the driving experience, which is what they are paying their money for when they buy a car like this. So why should they not have that option? I would gladly pay $1k for it.

Very funny, like Toyota hasn't been sued enough in the last few years!

carbonBLUE 03-15-2012 04:29 AM

i want an option to get winter tires on steelies, put them in the back for the drive home :D

suprachica79 03-15-2012 07:34 AM

I would love-

Auto-Climate Control
Full Leather seats
Sunroof
FI of some sort
Heated Seats
Longer 6th gear for better highway MPG
HIDs
Pushbutton Start

The factory headers are equal-length, that's why the car doesn't have the classic Subie warble/rumble. This is the best pic I could find with a quick search:

http://www.tune86.com/sites/default/...ow_2011_72.jpg

The headers are Tri-Y or 4-2-1. What your'e seeing is the display engine at the Tokyo auto show with the heat-shielding removed to show off the tubing.

Nafe 03-15-2012 09:38 AM

Actually I did know that, I was confused and thought he was wanting equal lenght. Total mind blank at time of posting :P
Because i was super excited about the equal length headers :P
