I've never lowered one of my cars before. How much of a drop should I be looking for with a Subaru BRZ? Most of the spring kits I see are about a 1" to 1.4" drop, but you guys seem to go lower than that.

What would you recommend for a daily driver? I don't do anything on the track. I'm interested in lowering just for closing my wheel gap some with the stock wheels.

1"-1.5" will remove most of the wheel gap and retain fairly acceptable suspension geometry. Some people on these forums are super low, and unless they're robispec or have a similar amount of suspension correction (read: almost all suspension components modified) they're doing it for looks. It's obviously a lot more trouble the lower you go in terms of ground clearance.

Thanks! So after some research I think I like these: http://www.andysautosport.com/subaru...h00000198.html

The only thing I'm worried about now is I read that I need a camber kit otherwise my tires could be screwed after 6 months?? I have no idea what that is. Do I need it?

After doing any serious suspension modification, an alignment is recommended. This "camber kit" is a bolt (either OE WRX or Whiteline, etc.) that will move the strut inward relative to the hub (as opposed to a coilover with moves the whole unit from the top.) If you don't plan on doing any performance driving, a standard alignment with factory camber bolts should be sufficient.

I installed everything on my car myself, they're super easy to do suspension on, other than the rear lower control arms that were a little bit of a pain in the arse.

Tires are 225/40-18 front and 235/40-18 rear Hankook ventus v12 evo

Brandon from Gandrud Chevy did the mounting and balancing. Hit me up on fb and I'll give you his info, he does it on the side when hes not busy at work and only charges like $40 if i remember correctly. Did an awesome job.

I also had to do a decent amount of fender work in the rear, but that's because I'm running minimal camber so the rear can hold up to the added power of boooooooooost.

the company I was working for at the time set me up with these for free so I wasnt being picky ha considering selling these and getting extreme drops. Is it really worth it though ? Im thinking after adding LCA's in the rear and removing some of the locking collars in the front I will be happy with the drop. any input ?

Well if u want to go lower you should go ahead and jump on some extreme low with some stiff springs :), because even after u add lca's I think the front might be an issue

Wow! I thought I was definitely going with 18"'s but after seeing what 17s" can look like, I just don't know. Performance-wise, 17s are the way to go, no?
How is the ride feel? What camber correction "goodies" do you have, are your fenders rolled, any wheel scrapping? Sorry for so many questions. But I have too say. just love the look of your car, top 5 so far IMO.

thank you.

the only issues i had/ youll have, is whith the stock suspension. on full wheel lock (steering wheel) the inside of the wheel hits the tie rod. not a bid geal. i havent checked since installing the coils but i dont think its an issue anymore.

the ride is perfect. if i was on a 35 tire, it might be too rough. but right now its perfect. no scraping and no fender rolling. i would only do 18's if i was going with a staggered setup like 18x8.5/ 18x9.5. i went 17 to save the weight and to go squared for tire rotation. plus IMO, 17's with 245/40's look perfect. each rim weighs a little over 15 LBS each.

im getting my alignment done tomorrow so ill let you know about the camber settings. i do have stance LCA's so that will help with the camber in the rear :party0030:
