Thinking of getting a M coupe as well to replace my e46 m3 :D

Kelbyat07 07-15-2013 06:54 PM

Nice M coupe. You made a good choice, welcome.

Nice collection of rides.

GRANDPA?!

vividracing 07-15-2013 09:23 PM

Beautiful collection and welcome!

Welcome! FT86Club is full of great folks.

I'm actually cross-shopping the E86 and FT86 variants. Wonder if anybody else is doing the same...

Demotic 07-15-2013 10:00 PM

Another fellow .:R32 owner who switched to 86? I always welcome that.

I spy a white Golf R! I love those things. I almost got one of those when I decided to trade in my WRX. AWD, still plenty of room to grow and so much more luxurious/comfortable at the same time.

Love the M Coupe! I was shopping for one, but couldn't get any good deals.

It's hard to find one that is well-maintained and does not "cost an arm and a leg."

Congrats on the FR-S. If you work near Minneapolis you may see me, I drive a blue BRZ.

I know a lot of owners of the twins get together in Brooklyn Park on Monday evenings, I just have not had a change to make it out there.

Enjoy!

Yep, I flew across the country for my E36/8 and thoroughly enjoyed the road trip home. Not afraid to do it again. It's just the matter of finding the exact right car, which is well over $30k right now. Versus a 5yr newer vehicle that, albeit slower, may be equally fun and more enjoyable from a simplicity standpoint. Something I wouldn't feel bad parking outside, etc. Anyway, I'll figure it out when the time comes.

Hello everyone!

I want to formally introduce myself as a proud new owner of a FR-S. I have an M Coupe which I love driving and wanted to drive it every chance I get behind the wheel. The problem is though, I have a long commute (80 mile round trip) and putting that many miles on such a car for driving to work just didn't make much sense to me (low mpg and high maintenance). On the other hand, I don't want a boring car for daily driving.

After a few test drives and fuel-logs of owners over the past year, I decided to pull the trigger and got myself a firestorm FR-S. It's hard to compare the driving experience with the M Coupe because they simply don't compare in stock form. In short, I'd say it's the best compromise of a fun to drive car with good gas mileage. Also, I can drive like I stole it every day and not blowing past the legal limit. :D

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community!

I like the M , but I bet you the new 86 is way better car in term of steering, handling, balance, quick, dynamic and especially a "soul" to drive  lol. Congrat !

I wouldn't be so sure. BMW M cars (especially the smaller ones) have always had excellent handling and driving dynamics.

I work in Anoka. So Brooklyn Park is right by it. Do you know at where exactly the get together is?

It is called Rice Killers and folks meet every Monday evening around 6-6:30. It is on 81 across from Wagners.

I am going to try and make it next week. There are lots of other cars there too:

Well that would be difficult. I know of a Blue one that only has 3k miles but of course owner isn't selling it.

Demotic 07-16-2013 06:37 PM

MKIV or MKV? I did not even bother with five because of the DSG.

Welcome to the club ! That's a real fine collection of cars.

and did I rear right that the DSG got to you? Can you elaborate on this, did you get bored or what?
