New guy with his new FR-S
hey all :)
new guy from alabama here! ever since the US release i've been wanting to grab one but didn't want to spend 24k just yet, nor did i want to get rid of any of my cars. finally caved 3 days ago and traded in my 06 evo 9 mr se for a PW fr-s :party0030: now sure, some of you may be thinking, "wtf is wrong with this guy..." lol, but it was time. the evo was nothing but trouble for me and after i hit 116k on it i started losing interest in modifying it any further. had a few things done... nothing crazy but enough to get the good ol' butterflies in the stomach feeling. however, i think i made a great decision. still figuring out plans for my new frs but i'll spend some time on that one. anyways... happy to be part of the community. looking forward to some great discussions and watching the whole development of the aftermarket support for this car unfold. oh yeah, here's a pic: http://www.whitecranberry.net/0cX/MyCar.jpg |

a full custom exhaust (straight to the turbo), new mani, shep street trans, blitz induction kit (when i wasn't running tune for straight filter off the turbo), and several nice tunes (done by topspeed in GA) made it A LOT of fun. never got the final numbers though :( with just a catback, test pipe, and tune i was putting down 300awhp/279awtq (mustang dyno also) so who knows what it did with the rest. all other tunes were street tuned. but with power steering pump problems, i/c pipes that needed replacing, high mileage, and misc aesthetics issues that just bugged me it was time to let it go. :( the frs has potential, maybe not nearly as much as the evo did but, i'm fine with that. |
