Painting the inside of the FR-S
I work at a Toyota Dealership in florida. So if anyone has questions about ANYTHING FR-S related, please feal free to ask me!! I own two FR-S's. I have had the inerrior panels pulled off and sanded down and sprayed the OEM FR-S color FIRESTORM! If anyone would like to see the pics, please feal free to email me at jeepman575@gmail.com

Can you tell me if the 0w-20 engine oil specified is also supposed to be fully synthetic?
My dealer wants to use Mobil 5w-30 semi synthetic for my Toyota 86 and i'm sure I read somewhere it's fully synthetic only? |
could you just post pics here? if you need posting pics feel free to ask
Yeah emailing for pics is a bit weird...should post them here for the internets.
Agreed. I'd like to see this. Did you do the piece around the gauges too? I'm thinking about doing this with my hot lava.
Yes only use the 0-20 Full Synthetic. Dont put any other oil in it!! And i would love to share the pics with all of you on here....but im having trouble uploading them! It says that they are too large and i need to resize them. I dont know how to do that. So if anyone could help me, i will post all the pics for yall to see! Also, i have had MANY MANY custum things made for the inside and outside. The one you guys will like the best would probley be the arm rest that matches the inside.

Use photobucket then use the IMG option copy and post te code in a reply to this post.

Interesting. One of the (admittedly crazy) bugaboos I have that's prevented a purchase is the black interior. This seems like it would be a fairly labor intensive job. I'm interested in any insights you might have. Changing the interior to a lighter color (*any* lighter color) would be awesome.

use imgur.com to host pictures. Photobucket images dont always stay around

Well all the cars come with the black and red interior. But i have seen a few people take the seats out and change the inside to light gray suede and make the seats light gray suede with color matching inserts. Or leather. Both look great. But cost wise, you would be looking at 1000.00-3000.00. Depending on how custom you want to go with it! But dont let that hold you back from buying such a bad ass car! FYI....it would be very labor intensive.

Got this arm rest made in Japan. It should have been factory:D
not my thing but it looks really well done
thanks for the advice. i posted pics for u to see. tell me how u like it?
posted the pics. go see them
I think the red is nice. But not sure if any other colour would work. Maybe black
wow nice
Just a different take on all the CF interior wrapping/replacing. The red looks fine with the factory red accents, maybe a Japan red shift knob? Lol I wouldn't color match with any other color though
It makes it look even more retro than it did before. Great job.
I can't help wondering how piano black would look or gunmetal? Thanks for the oil info. |
Well the whole job took like a day to do. We look the parts off, and I gave them to the guys in our Auto Paint and Body Shop. They sanded them down and put a primer on them that made the Auto paint stick. It is 2 color coats and 2 coats of clear. If anyone is interested in doing another color, to match theirs, then let me know and i will try and help you all that i can!!

I have seen thee dash done in white also...and it turned out great.
