just bought my FR-s!

So I just bought my FR-s last Saturday with 11 miles. the only thing is that my car didn't come with an owners manual..... I immediately told the salesman and he told me he would get me one in 2 weeks and gave me an I-O-U receipt. does anyone have a link or anything to an owners manual in the meantime? thanks a lot in advanced.

Grats on the car! You'll love it!

buzznasa 07-09-2013 09:59 PM

Congratulations on the car. You will will find it difficult to not want to drive the car every waking moment. Got mine just over a week ago and have just over 1000 miles on it already just driving around town. You will absolutely love it.

Now for the obligatory, pics or it didn't happen :D

I have been driving easy all this time but I took the traction control off once to see what I can do lol. at this point its not my fault if they try to void me for anything because they never told me how to treat the car for the first 1k miles, and they never gave me an owners manual. so if its anyones fault it would be theirs.

Yea you have to wait a bit, and make sure you check you inbox of the email associated with the forum!

Btw you asked why not to disengage traction control and don't go past 4000 RPM but vary the RPMs, that's the break in procedure per manual instructions, and you do that for 1000 miles. Some of the people here in the forum even took the added unnecessary step of changing the oil a bit early then returning it back to the normal maintenance schedule and changing the oil again at 7500 miles.

Best of luck to you sir and enjoy the FR-S I hope to be a fellow owner as well in the coming months!:party0030::thumbup:

Don't worry, some owners here have been much worse within the first 1K miles, you should be fine :)

The first FR-S that got wrecked on the forum (possibly in the U.S.) was due to turning off the traction control in the rain. I make it a habit to never turn it off in the rain when I am on the road (Particularly in the rain). However, I have found a great, wide open spot behind a disused shopping center that I have visited a couple of times in the rain (sans the nannies) to play with no one around and without stressing the driveline on dry pavement on a track or during an autox event until my break-in is complete. Just don't dump the clutch at 6k at every light and you should be fine. :burnrubber:

You mean that it's not part of the break-in of the car?

I wish I had never read about the stupid "chirping". I thought I noticed funny noises from the engine, and now I know it's not my imagination!
