hand grab serious issue
In a terrific article in Motor magazine (Australian), August 2012, page 52 it says we have an "hand grab in the door sill" to assist getting in and out.
Can anyone tell me where it is? At present my back has jinked on me and I can't get out. |
huh?
Put you hand on the door jamb and climb out
Well, since you are in Australia, you will have to turn your car over to find it....:bonk:
It's the small portion of the door sill that is soft rubber, instead of the hard plastic of all the rest sill.
its called the roof lol
I know this seems like an obvious solution but have you tried throwin' another shrimp on the barbie?
I dont know about you guys, but every time I touch that thing it electrocutes me. I dont mean static shock, i mean continuous electrical discharge into my arm. you can hear it going "crack crack crack crack" like a tiny little tazer pumping volts into my hand.
Well this just got sexual ...

The ark was off of the door latch u bolt thingy. No other part of the car (when exiting) grounds as good. I always keep one hand on the car when refueling.

wtf?! With the door all the way open you can use the edge of the dash...it's sort of shaped like a grab bar.
FYI to all those putting their hands on the roof and door frame, you better wash your car on a regular basis and wax because hand oils will eat through that paint and/or oxidize over time. |
This is how I get out of the car

OK, the magazine desription term "grab bar" was poor. I have cancelled my subscription. It is better described as a "wrist rest" and if you are careful your skin need never contact the paint as you push off. I recommend you put your wrist out on the rest first, followed by your leg. Failure to do so can result in limp wristedness. |
