Perrin 3" Front Pipe

I've seen a Perrin 3" Front Pipe referenced in a number of exhaust threads, but when I go to their site, I do not see one on there. Is there an ETA on these? I don't want to order a 2.5" front pipe, just to have a 3" one be released in a week.

The purpose of our aftermarket front pipe is to replace the restrictive OEM front pipe. Yes, it will change the sound of the exhaust system as well. It will made it a tad bit louder over the OEM setup.

We are not making a header for the twins.

FR-S Matt 07-10-2013 03:44 PM

I plan on going turbo so I'm planning a 3" system for about 400 whp. Anything less, 2.5" will probably suffice.

The 3" front pipe is available for purchase from us directly by giving us a call! :happyanim:

We have just not updated the website as our marketing team is currently very backlogged.

So, if you'd like to order, just give us a call and we can get you taken care of! :happy0180:

[ame]http://youtu.be/asKY9XXa0z8[/ame] I want to thank @PERRIN_Christina for making this happen in time, Perrin is a great company to purchase from. They have great products and this exhaust with a Borla header sounds amazing.

Hope I'm not bring back a dead thread but are you still making these? Its been awhile since this post and I still don't see them on your site.

If you are making them how much do Cost? I have your 3" Cat back system now and would love to add a front pipe but dont want to go get a 2.5" one...

Thanks
Matthew

kurbkilla 04-23-2014 04:33 PM

Nope they dont make them anymore. You might be able to find them through other users or other retailers. But they stopped making them awhile ago

The above post is correct. We have discontinued the front pipes and we no longer have any in stock.

The only way to purchase one now is to hopefully find a new one from a dealer, or a used one from some of the members on here.

So 3" front pipe only came in catted?

Perrin only sold their 3" front pipes in catted form.

AnthonyQ 01-24-2015 07:23 PM

Tyrant 04-02-2015 07:04 PM

x2...so no more brand new perrin front pipes?

jflogerzi 04-03-2015 11:05 AM

They stop making them long ago. I am guessing you find used ones. If your after quality jdl makes 3inch exhaust components. Just be prepared for a wait

phrosty 04-03-2015 12:27 PM

It's a front pipe, how different can they be?

I want the perrin because they have a development page which includes dyno results. Whereas most front pipe options don't have any data. So far I've found dynos for nameless and motiv. There was one pipe that actually produced less power but I can't seem to recall the name.

Do you have any dynos for the jdl? The price is a bit high. Right now my only option is to either wait and hope I get lucky for the perrin, or go with nameless' catted resonated for close to 600.

JDL high... are you serious? The Perrin 3" FP when it was being sold was worth $430.

perrin parts are expensive to begin with. I can't justify paying 400 for an upgrade without a graph. if the pipe was around the 200 range then perhaps I'll risk it.

I posted a dyno going from a nameless catted front pipe to a ultimate racing 2.75 inch catless but resonated front pipe. The ultimate racing sounded better, picked up power and torque

sachu 04-03-2015 11:59 PM

Ultimate racing 2.75 overpipe as well. Great quality. Good price

If you can't justify $400 then you shouldn't be modding your car in the first place... Just because a piece gave someone x hp doesn't mean you'll get the same gains. I was disapointed with my header even though other people have had great experience and numbers with it.

Anyway...

The FP is almost a straight pipe... they have very little variations between them.

A catless 2.5" FP will do the same as any other catless 2.5"

A 200 cell HFC 2.5" FP will do the same as any other 200 cell HFC 2.5" FP

Same thing when you do 3" vs 3"

The only things to look at graphs for comparisons are headers and maybe catbacks, and like I pointed out, not everyone will have the same gains...

What other intake/exhaust modifications did you have on car for that dyno?

Besides the front pipe and overpipe, the rest of the exhaust and intake have been replaced. of course I understand that I won't make the same power as everyone else, that'd a given. But is it too much to as for a a bit of an idea of what I'm paying for rather than a complete shot in the dark? I rather do the research and buy one part that I'll be happy with as oppose to replacing that part because I didnt adequately look around before making a a decision on a whim.

Skunk2 intake
Skunk2 header
Perrin 2.5 resonated exhaust
Nameless 2.5 catted front pipe/overpipe

The only thing that changed was the resonated catless 2.75 ultimate racing front pipe overpipe combo
