What do you call your car?

Anything in particular? Any reason why?

I'll start: my hot lava FR-S is called Haruna- after a volcano in the same prefecture as the 86/BRZ factory, and because I think it sounds nice.

Barbarian 07-03-2013 10:03 PM

I call my FR-S "my car"

spdfreak 07-03-2013 10:03 PM

Easy

Doctor Who 07-03-2013 10:07 PM

Named her Melody. No reason in particular, just seemed like a good fit.

Asphaltfrs1 07-03-2013 10:30 PM

I call her "sexy bitch"

pmdc 07-03-2013 10:33 PM

I pick mine up Saturday, but I think I'll name her 'Delia' after the johnny cash song

I call mine Gem after the character from the new Tron movie. It's the first white car I've had and it stands out in my mind like she does in that movie... Plus it's a nice name.

Brently 07-03-2013 10:41 PM

Grey Wind: Because everything and everyone in my life is getting renamed according to where they fit into the Game of Thrones mythos. That way I can be happier during the downtime between the seasons. hahahaha

kthxbai 07-03-2013 10:42 PM

Lovely is her name!

Gannicus77 07-03-2013 10:50 PM

I call her cloud, she's a 1 year old filly.

dkrou351 07-03-2013 10:53 PM

oldpueblo 07-03-2013 10:55 PM

malave7567 07-03-2013 10:56 PM

My wife named it Yoruichi. I was ok with this. I named the last vehicle.

Wo6M 07-03-2013 11:16 PM

I have decided to call my Whiteout "Deava" .
Reason? Well Hell ... The twins are notorious and heavily anticipated since its inception.

IntotheOcean 07-03-2013 11:20 PM

I'm going to name my future firestorm Lyla from the oasis song :)

Overland'n'5thGEN 07-03-2013 11:43 PM

I gave her a name plate to.

I call mines Rae Lynn, was gonna name my Mark IV Supra that but I ended up choosing an FR-S as it seemed more practical to own... So... I named her Rae Lynn

Symmetrical 07-04-2013 03:00 AM

Breezie, or Sexy BRZ.

Drftfan 07-04-2013 03:23 AM

I used to name my cars but after 20 different ones it seems pointless now.
Jordan was the name of my 95 s14. Pretty much naming the cars died when I sold her.

OnkelC 07-04-2013 03:39 AM

"Der GT" or "Der GT 86"

OVR_RUN 07-04-2013 06:26 AM

When i eventually get mine ill be naming it "OVR RUN", after the Recent transformer Over-Run.

My wife called the car "Samurai" once and the name sticked. So, now it's like:
"- Are you on Samurai?
- Yep.
- Then I'd rather go by metro..."
:)

Perihelion 07-04-2013 06:53 AM

Snow White in Japanese, 雪白 Yukishiro :)

pandora 07-04-2013 11:26 AM

Actually, Pandora wasn't goddess - vise-versa she was the 1st human woman, mortal. Sort of Hellenic Eva. So, be careful - your car isn't immortal ;)

jackiejackie211 07-04-2013 04:34 PM

couldnt think of anything good, so i came up with Frankie Rhonda Sparkles..i usually just call her car.

Gidget. Derived from the "crickets", but with fun, athleticism, and good looks thrown in. Gidget fits. She's a pretty girl.

Snow White = Yukishiro
White Snow = Shirayuki

Family name is said before first name in Japanese, as well as in other countries.

As far as I am concerned, they both seem right. Consider this-- unless you are Japanese, why would you observe that cultural nuance?

I have a friend named Loo Yuk Wan (Chinese) We all call her Trudy Loo.

Obsidiank 07-04-2013 10:14 PM

Named her today. Lexi with only one x, cause she aint a stripper

Shinobi 07-04-2013 10:22 PM

My Asphalt Gray is called Mary Jane. I changed the stock head unit to read her name when I turn the car on.

Some people just want to make the forums a confrontational pissing contest for no apparent reason. Notice how he didn't post the name of his ride or even bother to read the Kanji.

PS: I just read some of his posts. This guy seems to roll around the forum trying to point out to people where they make mistakes. Most of his posts are peppered with hints of passive aggressive sarcasm. Trolling at its finest.

Nardi330 07-05-2013 01:12 AM

i called mine Mochi (cos she is white and sweet)

Yeah, I am well aware of your examples.

It is just one of those lost in translation cases, not dissimilar to when people directly translate things into english from foreign languages. It'll seem odd to the native speaker of english. Same goes with chinese tattoos that seems perfectly fine to an english speaker but would be odd to a chinese speaker.

EDIT:

Supposedly "No more corruption", unfortunately it reads as "There isn't corruption".
