Thanks bud!

DriftEightSix 07-02-2013 06:49 PM

nice result.

When does the full 16psi kick in?

nlp187 07-02-2013 07:34 PM

Nice!

Carwhisperer 07-02-2013 07:39 PM

I would be all over this kit if it reached near full psi at 4,000 Rpm

jamesm 07-02-2013 08:00 PM

looks great!

King Tut 07-02-2013 08:15 PM

I don't understand why the torque peak isn't until like 5200 RPM, and are all these pulls done in 3rd gear? That dyno run was super short.

It should be at full boost by 4000 RPM. I know mine hits 14 psi at 4000 RPM with a GT2871R.

mack4477 07-02-2013 08:19 PM

Hey guys.

I told LJ to go ahead and do the build thread because, well, they built the car. However, I can say that the car is an animal.

I haven't been watching the boost gauge to see where I actually hit peak boost. But I will say that at 4k rpm, all hell breaks loose.

Smashing the gas in 1st does nothing but spin and kick the car sideways. Grab 2nd, regain a little traction, then they spin again kicking sideways at the top of the gear. 3rd also spins just a little at the top. I'm running Direzza Z2's 255/35/18 in the rear. The stockers are still on the front because I was shipped wheels with the wrong bolt pattern. Those will be 235/40/18.

Getting on the gas around 3k rpm and waiting that split second for the GTX to spool is a blast. 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th hit, and they hit hard. All three will throw me back in the seat.

I took some comparison videos of 25 and 60 mph pulls with my brother's Evo when my car was stock. Hopefully this weekend we can do them again post-modification.

I love the car and can't thank LJ and Full Blown enough. They definitely have my loyalty and support with all they do.

Dipstik-sportech 07-02-2013 09:52 PM

Full Blown does it again!!!! I'm expecting more boosted twins at the September BIR Proving Grounds, I can't be the only one repin' this great company lol

FullBlown 07-02-2013 11:48 PM

Thanks for the kind words guys, the car does make full boost at 4k on the street. The gt28 is the perfect turbo for this car. As soon as you crack the throttle, the car just takes off.

Black86 07-07-2013 07:48 PM

Car sounds nasty! Love them rear wheels :) I literally cant wait to turbo mine, I am looking for 400+whp e85 setup as well!

whitefrs 07-07-2013 07:49 PM

i want my car to be that good :(

:word:

Every day that I leave work I think of how much closer I am to boost.

:respekt: to the guys at full blown... TypeRSpec had a video on YouTube of a few 60-100/120 pulls a while back..I saw that shit and was at the Toyota dealership the next day. Can't wait to unleash what my fa20 has to offer..

Mr. 07-07-2013 11:26 PM

I thought someone figured that safe Torque range is about 250 (clutch)
How about the engine before you need to change out internals and injectors?

I also understand that the build above does not have an internal works done.

Will running that big boast hurt the motor and will make it go BOOM?

Exactly how I felt lol! Awesome thing about that is he was only running 310whp imagine that or even 400+whp 0_0 I'm torn on full blown or fa20club mainly for price :/ both are such great kits!!!

Stock clutch only holds to about 210-220wtq. No body really knows the limits of this engine yet. FullBlown has hit 604whp on the stock block which is the highest that I know of currently...

Here is a short vid of the car pulling on a Scion TC and Sti

The exhause sounds mellow the majority of the time, but when boost hits the open dump sounds insane. I love it

I swear to you, someone at work today told me they thought it was a Supra haha I debadged the rear, so I get all type of people rubber necking as they go by trying to see what the hell it is. Even the people who recognize it, none of them expect it to be boosted

Dipstik-sportech 07-15-2013 05:47 PM

I have a civic on a t3, makes the same power but Its that t28 it comes on so hard when it spools mine can't do that lol

mack4477 07-15-2013 06:36 PM

Not sure how to embed YouTube vids, so forgive me if this doesn't work. My salesman took this vid when I brought the car back up. I had the Scion sales manager in the car with me.

Congrats, car seems to pull hard. Go out and get some kills under your belt.

Tansey86 07-15-2013 08:06 PM

How's the auto and turbo setup go together? Quick shifts and staying in boost must pull nice

Black86 07-15-2013 09:21 PM

I'd like to honestly see a full blown 400hp frs run a fa20club 400hp 60 trim frs in a friendly race to see the outcome of different turbos and setups! I am just biting at the bit to boost mine and run around on e85/kill mode :D

Dipstik-sportech 07-15-2013 09:28 PM

Tell someone that has an fa20 kit to come to BIR proving grounds in September and I'll give it a go
