Hello and welcome. I suggest checking out the drive chat thread. Happens almost every Saturday for a drive meet. That way you can interact and pick their brains about the car. Congratulations for graduating. I'm from San Jose. As for parts I'm reading through threads.

Borla is a no go because due to quality. Some were excellent others were just bad. This is for the exhaust.

If you're looking for an opticoat I know a guy. If you're doing tints Omega Werks call them because usually hes booked for 2 or 3 months ahead of its time.

Definitely try going to the drive meets! I learn a lot from listening to their experiences. Awesome group of people.

86drive.com is site to check what's happening in Norcal a lot easier then the thread because of calender plus voting polls happen too for planned events ;D

Good luck. Drive safe. Have fun!

there is a ton of info already on this forum. Learn to use the search button and you got a lot of reading to do, just don't expect to have it all given to you in one shot. Come out to some of our meets and meet the people, see what people have done to their cars, ask questions and see things firsthand. For instance in the last few weekend meets I have been able to look at people's exhausts, sit in their cars and hear how they sound, which is invaluable to decide which one I want to ultimately get. Sure beats reading about it and even just watching a youtube video. Many of us learn new things about our cars every time we meet up.

I like how he has his email address in the post so we can conveniently feed him.

Anyway, welcome to the forums. Search search search. Have questions after!? Please ask =)

then you will need to start will "cosmetic mods"

wheels should be a good starting point

8000k HIDs!!!!! Holly cow batman. If you want better light output go to 4300-5000k. Will look way better and give you better performance.

See you on the drives.

sent from a Galaxy SIII...

Rims or Tires? or Both

mou 06-30-2013 05:37 AM

it depends on your style. It's better if you come out to meets and check out builds in person to get a feeler of what you want for your car. Another alternative is reading up some build threads, compilations, etc.

Anyways, my rule of thumb for cosmetics is usually suspension first, unless you're okay with the wheel gap and height. For a more entertaining ride, an exhaust system.

I LOL'd at this.

Unless you plan on running the same size aftermarket wheels as stock you can reuse your prius tires. I'd tell you the same thing, wheels AND tires would be your first mod for this car, and maybe lowering springs of you have the budget.

No physical shop location. You put in an order then you can pick them up in marin/sonoma/vallejo area

Items can be shipped as well

Tires alone will make a big difference. But if you're planning on getting better wheels, might as well burn through the hybrid rubber first, and wait to get tires with the new wheel set up.

Also, from whet we've seen so far, bolt ons are not adding any real power. Supercharger and turbo kits are the way to go for real power.

Based on his intro, I don't think he needs that kind of power (or headaches) just yet. Lol.
