DIY: iJDMTOY LED DRL Foglight Bezel Install
Here you go! It's my first DIY Video so go easy on my! I also kept calling the glovebox a toolbox for some reason. The total time on the install if you go through the firewall and make everything look pretty is about 2.5 hours if you take your time. If I were to do the install again I'd say it would take about half that. And I cant get the "auto stabilization thing" to go away
Oh and the inspiration/power routing idea came from @FR-Shadow [ame]http://youtu.be/19kW9Lzj6K4[/ame] |
Nice!! They're really bright
|
it might just be the exposure on my camera lol. they kinda aim down though which is good lol
|
Oh yeah with the blue going to green wire of the high beam the LED Bezel will be low when the DRLs are on and high when the headlights are on
|
These DRL strips confuse me. Are they OEM or just fit perfectly? I went to the dealer and he said he thought they were OEM for 2014 as an option too.

Installed these yesterday and I do like.
There is an open slot in the fuse box with accessory power (near the wiper fuse if I remember correctly). A spade connector fits in nice and snug. Much easier than running into the cab for power. I think (personal opinion) the LEDs are too bright at 100%. I will likely wire the blue wire to the same accessory power slot for 50% brightness all the time. |

What amp fuse did you use in that accessory power fuse slot? |

Just received mines and no blue wire for dim option kind of bummed hopefully they send me a new set of wires. Must be the new version. |
apologies in advance for resurrecting a dead thread :)
but that power tap location (to the left of fuse 7 [ 30A] ) is not switched accessory power ( or Ignition-on power) in my 2013 BRZ.... it is constant +12V even when car is switched off. Posting this in case someone does not want that wire energized at all times due to possible battery drain. For those who care, you can check your own car with a test light , 12V bulb, or volt meter. |
Hmm. Was 100% accessory power in my old frs.
Brz box wired differently? Seems unlikely Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk |

^^ Maybe different due to brand (unlikely)? or year (probably more likely)?
Best advice seems to be to test one's own car with ignition off, then with accessory switch on, to know for sure how a particular car responds. |
