What would You do if your motor blew?

This should be an interesting poll. Hopefully the poll is inclusive enough for everybody to select their option.

SilverSkyline210 06-28-2013 08:48 PM

Get it replaced under warranty.
:burnrubber:

KAR 06-29-2013 02:48 AM

Fit a fully built Turbo TC motor

Fast_Freddy 06-29-2013 03:18 AM

Where's the would-have-been number one option to "Put everything back to stock and try to defraud Toyota or Subaru to replace it under warranty"???

Another good one would be "Blame it on the HUGE DI issue". LOL!

Calum 06-29-2013 05:41 AM

How about build my own motor.

Patrick@Ptuning 06-29-2013 09:37 AM

Step 1: Laugh and say I always hated boxer engines.

Step 2: Swap 4g63

Step 3: Rule world.

Why?

Because racecar.

Barbarian 06-29-2013 11:52 AM

Probably go with a built motor

Beyer Subaru 06-29-2013 12:01 PM

Yank it out and drop in an LS.

This does have a lot of appeal. I wonder what the weight and CG differences would be.

KpAtch3s 06-29-2013 12:39 PM

If I didn't want to get a built FA20, I would swap for a RB26. Maybe even a built RB. If I had more cash to blow I would see if I could find a RB30 out of Australia.

I'm surprised I don't see more people considering a RB swap.

Who cares? If I had blown my motor I would be a snivelling mess. An LS would easily put a smile back on my face!

The LS is a tight fit. I don't know if an extra 2 cylinders would fit long ways? I think the RB would really be pushing the boundaries of length and height.

A friend of mine has a RB26; I think I'll have to pull our cars up for a side by side picture and take some measurements for shits and giggles.

spdfreak 06-29-2013 01:02 PM

build a new one

ftc~brz 06-29-2013 02:55 PM

I would pull it, take it apart, see what is damaged, then order up the parts, then take it to someone to put it back together correctly depending on what is damaged. No way am I trusting any of the local machine shops / engine builders.

FrX 06-29-2013 08:42 PM

Build my own motor.

bakerr6 06-29-2013 11:47 PM

ls3

JackSmiley 06-30-2013 01:30 AM

Pull out the motor and electronics, put a custom mattress in the cabin and i'll have a rockin bunk bed.:D oh, buy another FRS.

evilconcarne999 06-30-2013 01:41 AM

since the car will be that much lighter, i may just remove the floor and drive it around like the Flintstone's car

RB30 bottom ends are cheap over here, but I've always been an SR20 man and seriously considered putting my old motor (built SR with 35r) before selling her in this car but couldn't justify it... Would love to see it done though with the VE head :party0030:

SmsAlSuwaidi 06-30-2013 05:59 AM

Good thing Im making use of my fa20 and selling it to fund my 2j swap :)
