Raceseng | 86'er Shift Knob in the works
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/pictu...pictureid=5423
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/pictu...pictureid=5346 Here are some images of our first round of the first round of prototypes of our 86'er Shift Knob. It has been crafted from billet aluminum and engraved with the famous "86" that everyone knows and loves. We are in heading into production with these soon and wanted to give everyone an introduction. For the warmer climates, we understand this along with every metal shift knob will get pretty warm. We're investigating potential solutions for this. Again, work in progress. We will be offering this in red anodizing and also trying to figure out another color to offer. Suggestions? Installed with the 86'er is the R-Lock reverse lockout handle. More billet aluminum and will be available in black anodizing. You can follow everything we have in product development on our blog at: http://www.raceseng.com/blog |
Wh not offer both the knob and reverse lock out in red and black so buyers can mix and match?
Nice!
Silver, Black, and Red would be a safe bet. Also blue for the Subies too. |
Black with the "86" red as well as the grove below it
anything for AT?
The red one on your sig would be nice in black! would love to see it. Is there an estimated time when these bad boys are going to be available?
These look awesome! Interested in seeing colors!
Really nice piece. But I would dread holding onto it during a Texas summer.
Right? I've got a black aluminum shift knob now, and I keep a sock in the car to cover it on hot days. Usually keeps it cool enough...other times I just have to shift fast lol

Once we have the production times and pricing figured out, we'd like to offer a group buy to everyone on here. Quote:

Group buy with a few colors allowing them to mix and match would be a good way to judge I think. You could start it once u have a final sample of each color then have it open for say a week allowin the customers to pick what they want. Then get em anodized and shipped? I'd imagine that would be a decent way to get a feel for the market. You can also try a poll?
I'm keeping an eye on this to see what your final result is. I'll say it again, it is a really nice piece.
nice...what is the price range again?
If you guys do have a prototype or two anodized in blue, and end up not selling them, I would like dibs on purchasing one. If you end up producing them in blue, then even better.
I had a black chrome aluminum NISMO shift knob in my 350Z for 4 years in Texas. Yes, it gets hot. But it's manageable. My $0.02. |
Love the idea of a group buy. Get em!!!
That's really cool.

Well, if you insist :)

Jarret,
Do you have photos of the other colors in the car? Even mobile phone pics will do. That would help a ton. Thanks! Quote:
