i thought it was in the game a long time ago

I still so deeply regret that they changed the tail lights from the concept.

"Great job team! The car looks amazing... now how can we make it look more bubbly?"

Bristecom 06-24-2013 05:15 PM

I actually like the final product design more. This one looks a bit too GT-R-ish for me. Although I kind of like the tail lights better.

yup does look a lot like a GTR

suaveflooder 06-24-2013 06:00 PM

That's because you did. It's the FT86-G, which was Toyota's version of
the FT86 concept with a turbo and extra bodywork.

Luis_GT 06-24-2013 07:32 PM

Best concept phase

I obviously know that, just curious why he's reposting it.

Where were you 3 years ago? This was shown in Tokyo Auto Salon back in 2010, and I believe it is included in GT5 since the beginning, 500,000 credits?

Well, the production is indeed like the Concept II, except the front light and bumper, and the back light and trunk opening. So that is where the 5% Toyota decided to change....

They should have kept those angular headlights on the concept instead of the round ones on the current car. BTW I saw a promo pic of an FRS with those same rims pictured but it was overseas. Are those rims only for the JDM models??

m.wood0213 06-27-2013 06:32 PM

when will this car be available in gt5?

I've met the guy that design this concept (different guy than the one that was in the vid). He told me pretty interesting stuff. ;)

Those wheels aren't really OEM... BUT technically you can get em (not cheap nor light at all).

Anything that can be shared?

PS: now I just look at the picture again, another thing that was changed *in the wrong way IMO* is the hood. In the concept, there is a distinctive separation between the front bumper and the hood so that the headlight is enclosed by the bumper. In production car that was not the case, and some people love/hate that design cue...

Well, more like how he design that concept. Nothing full secret or anything :)

You didn't notice the hood design was different? That was one if first thing I noticed when I saw the final ver

Now if ONLY the car sounded this GOOD in the real game.... If this is GT6 car sound effect, then I think GT6 has won me over.

Speaking of GT6... I dont think this concept car was being recorded using GT5 at all so the thread title may be a little misleading, but I could be wrong. :iono:

That change was probably due more to ease repair/replacement of the headlights than anything else... looking at the concept, you'd have to remove the headlights through the inside...
