I've never seen one and all the old suby motors all have round runners. What are you trying to accomplish?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the factory intake manifold though. You wouldn't want aluminum compared to the plastic one, it holds heat more. In fact, did you know the newer WRX manifolds flow better than the current gen STI manifolds?

Plastic/composite intake manifolds are better than metal, assuming they aren't leaking. You don't have the imperfections of metal casting (rough surfaces etc) and it weighs less. The only issue for a custom project is that yes, you can't cut it up and weld to it.

plus I'm pretty sure the runs at 620whp were with the stock plastic intake if you're worried about blowing it up.

Since JDL blew up their intake manifold, I believe they are designing one. I'm sure it will be pricey though.

I won't run super high boost or an insanely amount of torque/HP so the difference in heat shouldn't be an issue.

Why do you need to weld to it?

As for heat, even a stock engine without boost will heat soak the manifold enough to make a noticeable change in performance.

Unless you're running enough boost to burst the stock one, or are running really aggressive cams that require a totally different runner length and plenum volume you shouldn't have to touch the manifold.

Im not going into detail but to avoid further speculation and the spread of false information I picked up solid gains on my sheet metal manifold. its well worth it for a boosted application over 500.

Agreed, but the OP said no to lots of boost or high hp levels.

if you have the means to modify a stock cast aluminium manifold to adapt a supercharger, then fabricating a complete manifold from scratch should be pretty easy for you.

Fair enough, but since this is totally custom I'm sure you'll need a custom manifold so it clears the hood with the blower on top.

What are you going with then... the only three (and I use three loosely) types are roots, twin screw and centrifugal. Roots and twin screw are similar enough that I find most people use them interchangeably, even though they do have differences.

The Innovate kit is north american only from what I know, but the bullet/sprintex is available in other parts of the world and has been out for a while.
