Hey Mark, can you throw up some BRZ pics as well since I know I'm in the market as well and others may find them helpful.

Thanks!

Cade01 07-19-2013 06:16 PM

I'm thinking the side skirts will cover the dent the dealership put in my rocker area and this seems like the best match for my tight budget and it looks great.

Here is another link for US/Canada.

Too much for me I guess, the $135 for shipping puts me over me meager budget.

connor_lol 07-20-2013 01:17 AM

So this front lip will fit the FRS for sure? What material is it made of?

Does anyone know if painting polyurethane will work? i'd imagine it would crack the paint since the material is flexible.

You can paint PU as long as you get a special "flexible" paint but yes, if you hit the paint hard enough, it will crack.

projectXTR 08-15-2013 02:28 PM

Is drilling really necessary to install this lip ?
Not keen on drilling holes in my baby :)

Kiske 08-15-2013 03:45 PM

It is no different than painting the bumper on your brz/frs. :)

BTW almost all of todays automotive paint has the flex-additive in it's binder from the get-go.

lol its so hard to take you seriously with your profile picture. By flexible paint do you mean plastidip? or is there an actual flexible paint?

Yeah I know. Its a pretty funny picture. Anyways. I just remember reading through my owners manual and it was saying *insist on genuine subaru paint for reapirs* and of course it showed how the genuine subaru paint doesnt crack as much as aftermarket paint.

I am leaving my PU lips unpainted so that I can just scratch the hell out of them. I've seen painted cracked lips and it just doesn't look good.

You should definitely try plastidip and see what happens.

IceFyre13th 08-16-2013 03:43 PM

The least expensive way to buy the full kit and have it shipped to me in AZ / USA is from the UK EBay site

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-GT86-...item485678a552

$100.00 US less expensive than all the other sites listed in this thread............

ragingSPAM 08-17-2013 04:10 AM

damn that looks like a bootleg copy of the vertex lip...except it doesnt go into the grille area, it just stays tucked under its not bad but kinda like the vertex

all plastic bumpers on any car imaginable are made from polyurethane

there is a chemical additive that you put in the clear and or color Called "flex additive" so no real special paint. now there are "urethane" primers made to adhere to raw polyurethane then over that you can spray whatever you like. with the additive you can bend a paint chip almost 180 degrees over itself and it wont crack pretty cool stuff

Can you install without drilling more holes?

The leading edge of the FRS bumper has a lot of contour so without the additional mounting hardware, it has the potential to be too far away from the bumper leaving a gap.

Thanks!

Can be bonded on with PU adhesive sealer, if you do not want to drill.
