Baltimore Grand Prix Car Corral

I've been talking to the people who run the Grand Prix and I can get us a car corral. Membership in the 2013 Car Corral includes Reserved Grandstand Seating with your corral members, Paddock passes, and on-site parking adjacent to the ALMS Paddock.

08/30/2013 - 09/01/2013

COST:

Three-Day Car Corral Membership $185 (Driver) and $110 (Passenger)

It does seem pricey at first, but grandstand seating, by itself, is $90 and up, paddock passes are $45 each, and parking would be anywhere from $24-$90. If this is too much, we could also do a two day pass that would leave out the Sunday race.

Two-Day (Friday and Saturday) Car Corral Membership $135 (Driver) and $80 (Passenger)

The quicker I can get a tentative head count, the better.

Interested for sure, I'm going either way so just let me know what all this includes

nataku 06-18-2013 01:27 PM

I can only assume Sunday is the actual race so yeah I'm in for 3 days.

swift996 06-18-2013 01:29 PM

I'm interested (a great time). I need to check with my buddy who got us the hookup on a tent on coming into turn 1 last year.

I haven't seen the schedule yet, is it out? I'd like to catch the ALMS race and IMSA GT3 Cup. Indy practice is enough for me. So, I'm likely a Fri/Sat.

ap5512 06-18-2013 01:29 PM

Wow this is fantastic...I usually do the Montreal F1 but missed out this year. I wouldn't mind attending this so count me in. Just to confirm..so it would be $185 for me and $110 for wifey?

thejevans 06-18-2013 01:44 PM

The Schedule isn't anywhere that I could find, but last year it was ALMS on Saturday and IndyCar on Sunday, so I assume it's the same this year. I'm waiting to hear back if we can get a parade lap ;).

That's correct.

OrbitalEllipses 06-18-2013 02:01 PM

I'll do three days, but probably need to take that Friday off. Also willing to be someone's passenger! ;) @thejevans

warman 06-18-2013 02:01 PM

I might be interested in this. I would probably only do Friday/Saturday though.

Stay n/a 06-18-2013 02:09 PM

The way it's going to work is this: I am going to try to get a head count over the next few days and will use that as a guide to reserve a number of spots. Then, I will get a payment system set up through MissionTix and will post it on here. You will then have until Friday 08/30/2013 or until all the reserved spaces are taken up.

swift996 06-18-2013 02:18 PM

In years past Friday is mostly practice and lower level racing.

Saturday is usually Indy practice/qualifying, indy lights race, etc. and the headliner is the ALMS race typically around 5/6pm.

Sunday is the Indy race, usually around noon. I don't see them changing that much.

Would the price change if not driving a car....My motorcycle is my daily.

Trying to get through Bmore GP traffic in your bike will either be 200% better...or 500% worse. 50/50 chance.

If you want to park in the corral, you have to drive your twin. You could hitch a ride with someone else and be a passenger, too.

No Brakes 06-18-2013 06:19 PM

Im probably in for all 3 days

Kinickie 06-18-2013 06:28 PM

Entroper and I are interested in the 3-day package.

disgruntld 06-18-2013 06:52 PM

Me and @ette are more than likely coming for all 3 days. Two questions though: out of curiosity, does the 10% military discount postex on their website apply? And secondly, what are the people coming from out of town gonna do in terms of hotels?

MindtheGap 06-18-2013 07:01 PM

I am down with a passenger (90% chance on passenger tbh). Right now I am leaning toward 3 days, but just not sure yet. Great idea btw

xn7485 06-18-2013 07:35 PM

Looks like a great event, thanks for setting it up!

As for me, I don't know where I'll be, so hopefully if I do get to go, I can catch one of the allotted ticket slots.

Tagging a few more that may be interested: @Sargy @nataku @Marcoscrdo @Flat Black VW @Mango22

Grishbok 06-18-2013 07:50 PM

Im always at the baltimore grand prix, definitively down for this.

kanundrum 06-18-2013 09:25 PM

Been to this event down in florida and its so much fun, really close for us folks here near Laurel Columbia Glen Burnie. Let me contact the grand prix, I have a few friends that work for them every year and I will see if we can do a club get together with special access and car show displays etc.

E-Mail Sent

Give me a few days let me get some contact info.

Pure Automotive 06-19-2013 08:23 AM

I'm getting excited about this!

D4S 06-19-2013 10:34 AM

I have an apartment a few blocks from the Grand Prix, it's like tradition. Count me in for all 3.

Beyer Subaru 06-19-2013 10:37 AM

I'm in for all 3. Thanks @thejevans for the nod and coordination!

Marcoscrdo 06-19-2013 01:17 PM

Great idea for the sublet, just ran it by my roommate. Not a fan, lol.
So bummed! The extra cash would've been great if I got people coming from outside of MD.

No subletting, but we always keep brews!
